Comments about Summer Infant babyTouch Touch Screen Digital Video Monitor:

The specs I love: No static, remote moveable camera, touch screen, volume control/variation, cordless camera, intial range.

The specs I do not love: belt clip is horrible & so is the fragility of the screen...had it clipped to my pants the 2nd day of use, it fell off & the screen broke. If you purchase this DO NOT USE BELT CLIP!! I have an older model Summer monitor with a portable device that has an amazingly strong clip, this one is definitely inferior to the old model. I love that there is an option to use the camera cordless, but there should also be a way to hang it cordless. This feature was a large reason why I bought it, so I could hang it on wall without the cord, so my toddler would not get strangled in the cord, but alas there is no hanging nodule in the battery pack. :( I also do not like that when the monitor is off of the charging base the video feature does not stay on for more than a 30 seconds. That would have been nice to know prior to purchase! I like to be able to see my sons sleeping when background noise is loud (like when I am in the shower) & can not hit the "video on" button every 30 seconds. Meaning the only way to keep the video active is you have to cart the charging base with you to every room, as the video feature quickly depletes the battery which is why it auto-shuts off every 30 seconds.
Also, over time the range has gotten worse. I used to be able to go 300+ feet with it and still have a signal, but like the older Summer models, over time that signal has faded and is non-existent during rain storms, which happens nearly daily here in Florida.

My biggest complaint with the old models was the constant static issue, and I am very pleased to say, even after being dropped, it has never had that issue! :) LOVE that the signal is protected, so it can not be picked up on an outside monitor...great for keeping the burgalars at bay! Also, even though I complained about the little issues with the cordless features, it is still worth the purchase if you can afford it. The most versatile monitor yet.

Comments about Summer Infant babyTouch Touch Screen Digital Video Monitor:

SO far so good. We ordered this baby monitor a while back and we have not had a single problem with it since we bought it. The signal is clear and strong. It does exactly what it says it does. We basically opened it up, plugged it in and turned it on. It works beautifully. It makes me feel so much more comfortable with my infant sleeping in his own room now. We are thinking of getting an extra camera for our toddlers room and the play room as well.

Comments about Summer Infant babyTouch Touch Screen Digital Video Monitor:

This is a great monitor! I had a no frills monitor to begin with. It got us through about 14 months worth of night/days/naps. I mainly upgraded due to my previous monitor changing signals and then not having the receiver change to the same signal...it was a needed upgrade.

So I got this due to the fact that my toddler will soon start being more mobile (maybe climb out of her crib). I also liked the idea that you could buy a second video camera and could see them both on one receiver.

I have seen some reviews about reception and quality. I know I have three toddlers in a half block radius and have had no issues with interferences. Also, I think the reception at night is not grainy at all, in fact it seems really clear!

I would for sure recommend this to a friend (I already have).

Great product! I have one in our playroom and can monitor my son in there if i have to step away. If something is occuring that is not allowed I use the "talk" option to let him know. It has AMAZING visibility in the dark and it gives great piece of mind knowing what my son is doing. The monitor is not made to display video the entire time, more of a "check in" and if you keep turning it on it does wear down the battery. If used correctly the batter will last as needed.

When this item worked, it worked great. We kept getting a lost signal message and could not get it to work again without going into the room and rearranging the camera (which of course is impossible when your toddler is already in bed). The company was very nice and let us return it. We are waiting on the replacement and hoping there are no problems with this one...

Comments about Summer Infant babyTouch Touch Screen Digital Video Monitor:

I have 3 kids and have been through many not-so-great monitors over the last 7 years. Our last one gave out and we decided to get a video monitor even though our youngest (and last) is already 18-months.
I bought this particular monitor because of all the great reviews, panning/zooming, clear picture etc. The first 3 weeks it worked amazing! I couldn't believe we found such a gem. There was virtually no background noise, picture was clear & real-time. However, over the last week our picture has been cutting out and often we just get a white screen with "NO SIGNAL". This happens regardless of how close or far we move the handheld from the camera or what electronics we turn off because we suspect they might be interfering. So right now I'd say the monitor is not very reliable or great. And for the money we spent on this I expect it to be amazing.
I did call the manufacturer's customer service and while the rep I spoke to was considerate & understanding she basically said it's up to me to troubleshoot and there's nothing they can do. That is extremely frustrating and I'm really bummed that we are back to the same spot we've been in for years - with a frustrating monitor that we can't rely on.
I hope to resolve this eventually, but in the meantime I'd just give others a head's up that there is indeed the risk of bad interference with this monitor.

We have 2 children and have been through 3 monitors in 3 years. Others have given out, had no battery life, interfered with wireless internet (which is a problem when trying to work from home)... until now. Here's what I love about this monitor:

          1. Clearest picture I've seen

          2. No sound cut-outs

          3. 'Talk' feature allows communication with child ("Mama's on the way")...

          4. Good wireless battery life + has a stand for easy placement and
viewing when not plugged in to wall-charging base.

          5. No internet interference - period!

          6. Can add on additional cameras for additional rooms/children

          7. User friendly

I can't say enough about this product and I'm so thankful we found it! If you've been disappointed by other models, I would suggest investing in this one.

Comments about Summer Infant babyTouch Touch Screen Digital Video Monitor:

Bought this to use to monitor my older child with a disability. She recently had to start using a medical device and I was having to get up every couple of hrs to check on her and decided it was time for a video monitor. I looked at many video monitors and their reviews and this one had the best reviews on it. Once I received it, it was easy to set up and operate. The picture quality is great and I can hear her if she needs me, I can talk to her through the monitor if needed. I don't have any interference or fuzzy sounds or pics. Like the fact that you can remotely move the camera if you need to see other parts of the room. I bought an extra camera to be able to have in another part of the house. I would definately buy this again and would recommend it to others. It may be a little pricey but I think it's worth it. Definately a great product.

Comments about Summer Infant babyTouch Touch Screen Digital Video Monitor:

I absolutely love this monitor and highly recommend it! I originally purchased a Levana video monitor from [...] prior to the birth of my son. However, I live in a 2-story home solidly built in the 20s using lath & plaster and that seemed to interfere a great deal with the signal. Our nursery is on the second floor and the video monitor would regularly loose the signal each and every time we used it. Out of frustration, the search for a new monitor began. I looked at many and read reviews on each one and ultimately purchased this monitor along with an additional camera. I am extremely pleased with the quality of this product and am happy to report the signal strength is exceptional and disruption is a thing of the past!

I absolutely love this monitor! It's great to be able to have a monitor on both my kids (my son is 2 and my daughter is 9 mths). I also love the talk button. As soon as I see my son getting out of bed I just let him know that I'm watching him and he lays right back down. My only complaint would be the range. I can't take the monitor with me when I go on our back porch bc it loses signal. It is very easy to use and never has the static like my other monitors had. I recommend this monitor to everyone.

It has everything I wanted, ease of use, multiple cameras, color screen, night vsion, and docking station to recharge the battery. LOVE IT!!!! The only down side was the price but bought it anyway. The only major CON is that the battery life sucks, can't keep it off the docking station overnight or it will die.

We were intrigued by the touch screen feature, and how it resembled a smart phone- small, lightweight monitor. The video is horrible, unacceptable in my opinion, since you cannot make out details since it's so grainy. There seems to be a delay, like it's not in real time. I could not tell if my daughter's eyes were open or close as she laid in her crib, or see her breathing, which for my husband and myself, defeats the purpose of a video monitor. Not worth the money, video clarity is more important to me than having a touch screen. We liked the zoom feature and that you could pan around the room, though.

Comments about Summer Infant babyTouch Touch Screen Digital Video Monitor:

We had tried another walkie-talkie type monitor first and it had such a narrow lense that most of our son's room was out of range (it would have taken at least 3 cameras to cover his 10x13 room.

The Summer monitor was SO much better. The video is pretty clear even in night view. There are some very thoughtful features too - the unit has magnets to pull it back into the charger easily, the video camera included enough cord so we could install it high up on the wall, you can control the brightness of the screen (for us putting it on dim gave us the best view of our son's room), and the unit can be portable. BEST YET, you can remotely move the camera so there are literaly no hidden spots in my son's room - even straight down! With one camera we can see the whole room.

The only thing I think could be improved is... the camera makes a sound as it moves and this alerts our son that he's being watched (maybe not a bad thing).

We barely use the walkie-talkie function so that our son doesn't get in the habit of having ongoing conversations during quiet time/bed time, but it has been very helpful for short communications to keep him settled (i.e. 5 more minutes of quiet time, baby rabbit is by your feet, don't climb the bookcase).

                    Well worth the extra cost.
