About Me Grandparent
Comments about Fortune East Wood Stacking Blocks/Shape Sorter Toy:
My 11 month old grandchildren put everything in their mouths, and these blocks were painted. Also, they were too heavy.
Safety Issues
By Grammy

The nesting blocks are colorful, bright and busy, but overall the rough edges make me concerned for my grandson's safety when playing or carrying them.

We got this as a birthday gift for my one years old and he loves it!He loves the shape sorter, stacking the blocks, nesting the blocks, everything! The only downside to this product is because it is made of wood the corners are a little sharp, I am concerned if he is walking with a block and falls he could hurt himself, thankfully, he is a pretty sturdy walker!
Very multi-use.

It's a very good block and stacking set. Also a good source for teaching shapes and numbers.
Excellent Toy

Kept my grandson occupied for a good length of time. It offered a variety of learning opportunities that include color , number, and shape identification, hand-eye coordination and dexterity. Beautifully constructed.

Nice multi-purpose toy
By JM

Really nice nesting block set. My son loves to stack the blocks, and play with the shape sorters on each one. I wish the shapes for the shape sorter were a little bigger, my son is a young toddler and he still puts things in his mouth, and the small shapes are a choking hazard.
Not Thrilled

I purchased these for my grandson as a result of someone suggesting that wooden blocks would be a good gift for a 1 year old. Not true. The edges are very pointy and the shapes are not cut out of the wood well enough for the child to get them into the holes easily. I do not recommend this product.

I was so excited about this toy--nesting and shapes together. It looks lovely; however, some paint came off on my baby's hands and in his mouth! [...]

Please let me know how to return it....

The boxes are made of wood and the corners are sharp. I bought it for my 10 month old grandson but won't let him play with it for fear he would tumble with it and really get hurt. Can't believe this product is still being sold, yes it is retro and looks like the toys we used to play with but haven't we learned to make safer toys now??? I also purchased the doll house for my granddaughter but haven't opened that box yet...praying for a better outcome.
Nice Idea Poor Quality
By Toys4Kids

Loved the blocks colors, size, versatility and overall design my son received as a gift. He found these easier to stack then smaller plastic nesting sets. Unfortunately the product arrived defective twice so we had to ultimately return them for a refund (hence the 2 stars). [...] I was disappointed that the product manufacturing seems to lack adequate quality control. The issue with both sets were that the blocks were coming apart at the seams and blemished art beneath the varnish. The blocks are made of several layers of thin wood glued at the seams with a layer of thin varnish. The interior of the block where the seams were rough made me concerned that the wood could chip off aside from the obvious problem of falling apart. I did not find the quality of the product reflective of the high standards I expected from OSA. I don't think this product will stand up over time given the experience we had. I would not recommend the toy since the blocks are too expensive for the poor craftmanship and the high probability that you'd have to return it. That said I would repurchase if made of a different material or manufacturing was more thorough and appreciated the positive returns cust serv experience.

About Me Parent Of Two Or More Children
We do not personally own this product, I searched to find it for my 22mth old son. He uses it as a tool in his specialized education. It has helped him to develop his communication skills (IE asking for help), his shared play (sharing an actiivity with an adult) and he enjoys playing with it in all types of ways! It is a wonderful product and we plan on getting this for him for Christmas!
