We use this in our home for reading time, vidoe game time, and even time outs. The kids enjoy using this for everything they do, even timimg brushing thier teeth and bathtime.

I use the timer mostly for "rest time" when I want my 3-year-old to stay in bed and read books until she falls asleep. Works like a charm, but she is also a compliant kid. Problems I see: 1) the colors only go from green to yellow to red, which works for an activity a child is doing that you eventually want them to stop. For "rest time" I want it to start red and go to green when she can leave her room. 2) When you set the timer, it only saves the last time you programed in, so if you want a different length of time you have to go through the whole programming process again. The process is not as hard as some others have described once you learn it. It takes a few seconds, but if you are using it for a time-out or if you want your child to do it, you might have difficulties. 3) I would say it is over-priced for the level of technology it offers; however, it is handy for my situation for time-outs and naps, and my kids respond to it.

I should have listened to others before spending so much money - I wanted to use for time outs so my son could hit a button and it would count down his time out with out having to always yell to me if he was done - the clock is to hard for a child to set and takes to long for me to set to give to him and defeats purpose for time out - we now use it as a clean up or homework timer - trying to beat the clock

This is a great tool that I use when placing my 3 year old in time out. He would get so anxious not knowing when he would be able to get out of time out that he would scream and yell and cry throughout his time in time out. This has been such a great tool to use as a visual and he is more calm and knows exactly how long he is to stay in time out. It works wonderfully!

I looked at this for a while before getting it for my 9 year old son who has difficulty staying on task. It has worked wonderfully!! Yes, it can be a bit confusing to set at first, but now that I know how to do it, it is quick and easy; plus, I don't change the time on it often, so simply turning it on when it is already set is about a 5 second job. We use it for keeping my son moving in the morning...10 minutes for getting dressed...10 minutes for breakfast...10 minutes for brushing teeth and hair...DONE! No more nagging, reminding, and frustration! We also use it for his reading time before bed; he would often lose track of time and end up reading way past bedtime. It's also great for homework time; keeps him concentrating and focused. Now I wish I could find a small one for him to take to school and use during desk work time.

I bought this product and was displeased with it's functionality. The three button system makes changing times a chore, without each time having to determine what to do with the sections. If I want to set a quick timer for a five minute clean up, or a chore, it's just too unwieldy.

I bought this to use with my 3 year old and 5 year old daughter. It is diverse in it uses that's for sure! I use it as a timer for TV time, to clean their room, and have it as a reminder for my 3 year old to use the potty! I love it.

I have a 6 year old son with special needs. Getting him ready for school is a difficult task. He has no concept of time. Now, with this timer, he can keep himself on track by watching the colors and he gets himself ready most days. Also, we use it at the dinner table. He needs to stay at the table until the timer goes off. Now, he eats in 20 minutes instead of dinner taking him 90 minutes. I saw this product years ago and did not get it because of the cost. It is worth every penny. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the directions are not clear on how to set it and change the settings.

I was disappointed in the time tracker. I have considered buying it for a number of years to help keep my two oldest on task in a fun and engaging way. I finally broke down and ordered it [...]. Both kids were very excited when it came and enjoyed working to "beat the clock" but it was just simply too difficult and lengthy a process to set the timer each time you wanted to use it (at least for the things I was hoping to use it for). Definitely more suited for tracking longer periods of time. If you could set it more like a kitchen timer or alarm clock it would be an awesome tool. I should have listened to the reviews. Instead I will have to pay shipping to send mine back.

This timer ended the bedtime battle with my 3 yr old. Please be aware that the yellow and red lights are VERY bright. So much so that we have to turn the timer around. Adjusting the manual and auto timer does take practice but once you get a hang of it, it'll only take a about a minute to set up. Sound option is very handy.

This is a great tool for kids who have difficulty transitioning from one activity to the next. We are also using it for potty training. It really helps with time management for our Autistic child who really thrives on a schedule. The only con is the high price and it is a little hard to set up initially.

I use this timer both at home and in my classroom. I would recommend it because it is a good visual to let children know how much time they have to complete a task or finish an activity. Unfortunately, it drains batteries quickly and they seem to leak acid almost immediately. It is also not durable at all!!! It is made for children, but will break after the first fall. Way too expensive to have to replace as many times as I have!
