It's also a helpful time management tool for kids who have trouble staying on task or transitioning from one activity to another. Using just two dials, you can set both the timer and a "time's-almost-up!" alert. It features both audible tones and familiar green/yellow/red visual signals. We needed a timer that would not only tell my 6 year old when computer time was up, but give him a warning so that he would know it was coming. This timer works great! It's green for 10 minutes, then a short alarm sounds & the light turns yellow telling him he has 5 minutes left. This has definitely minimized the disappointment in my son when time is up...

The product is fine and provides a good visual time tracker for kids who are visual or too young to understand time. But the instructions are terrible. The instructions say to set the green band and then set the yellow band. Simple, eh? So I would set the green band for 10 minutes, then the yellow band for 5 minutes, thinking I was setting it for a total of 15 minutes with a 5 minute warning. The timer kept turning yellow after 5 minutes so I thought I had a defective product. What you actually need to do to get a total of 15 minutes with a 5 minute warning is set the green band for the total time (15 minutes) and the yellow band for how long after the timer starts, that you want the yellow light to come on (10 minutes). Had the instructions actually said this, it would have saved me and customer service some headaches.
