        I read the other reviews & I agree- they are long shorts. That is why I bought them & I was not disappointed. I was thrilled to find shorts that are not meant to cling to every part of my daughter's body. She's only 3 but she does not need to be wearing skimpy cut-up-the-butt shorts that seem to be the "in" thing anywhere I look to buy shorts. She & I love both the cut & comfort of these shorts. The fact that they help block the sun are a bonus. They are cut longer so that is also a bonus when it comes to the rough & tumble type of stuff kids her age get into because they offer a little more protection while still keeping her cool & they fit perfect (true to size) at the waist.

        Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

          Haven't went swimming in them yet. The materiaal is soft and thick, I thought a little thick for summer, but babies do get chilled in the water, so we'll see.

          These ran really baggy on my 20 month old (I got the 18m size). The waist wasn't too big, so she was able to wear them, and I'm actually glad she'll be able to wear them for the rest of the summer even if she hits a growth spurt (or 2, heh). I got them for a vacation where I wanted her to have some leg coverage even if we were playing in the water. We didn't end up having her swim in them but they were otherwise perfect for what I wanted.

              I bought these to use to have a pair of shorts that were easy to pull on and off with just being potty trained. They seem to be fairly easy to get on and off and the fabric is very soft. The quality is good and durable being put to the test by my very active 3 year old =+). I think the length is just right for him to move with ease.

              While these are uber soft and easy least to put on, take off, and launder, they ate ridiculously long. They go well past her knees and she is in the 60th percentile in height and weight. Not as attractive as I would have liked. They look like boys skater shorts. :-(
