This is the best idea for toddlers who love to play with sliding closet doors! Product is so easy to install and simple to use BUT they started falling off after just one day... Will try reusing them with a different kind of adhesive. Bummed that I have to take that extra step though!

I installed this in my daughter's room. The closet door is painted, but a fairly smooth surface. Once I stuck it on (locked it open for about a day to let the adhesive set), it has stayed on, no problems. We've had it for at least 6 months. I love that you can lock it open if you are getting in and out of the closet often. I don't have any complaints about this product!

We use this for the large mirrored closet doors in our daughter's room (she's 2 1/2). We do not want her playing in the closets, and she loved to go in there. After we installed the lock, she tried very hard to open the doors, but couldn't. Mission accomplished! The clever design prevents both sliding doors from opening and is easy to use. The doors are very tall and we installed the lock near the top of the doors, which seems sufficient for now. We may need to install one lower if she gets strong enough (and determined enough) to rock the doors from the bottom.

We used these on our mirrored sliding closet doors in 2 rooms - I was so excited when we got them because I thought they were such a great idea. After following the directions carefully, I was dismayed to see them lying on the floors just a couple of days after install. Terrible adhesive.

I cleaned the mirrored doors and installed them on two closets according to the directions. Two hours later, one of the locks fell and turned into a cat toy (until the cat's paw got stuck on the sticky side, then I had a crazed kitty). A few days later, the other lock fell, which was in the children's room. Luckily this lock is not a choking hazard. We don't go into the closets often, so the glue should have had time to set.
Such a shame since I loved the idea of this lock, not sure what else I can use to keep the kids out of the closets. This is the only product I purchased from One Step Ahead that I did not live up to One Step's quality.

These door locks are a great design for sliding doors. We live in military housing and have sliding doors on our pantries and linen closets so we purchased these locks to keep our 15 month old out of those areas. The design is easy to lock and unlock and can be mounted at any convenient height for the parent. However, they do not attach well to painted doors and, if the door is slid hard enough, will come un-stuck. We have had to hot glue them back on multiple times which has caused quite a bit of damage to the paint on the doors. Depending on the surface they would be applied to I would recommend these locks.

We are very happy this with lock. We used it on our sliding pantry doors and they are great! We switched out the adhesive that came with them to 3M command strips so it wouldn't damage the door. Keeps little ones out and the food and other things in the pantry :)

I never needed anything like this for my singleton daughter. This is great! Keeps my twin boys out of closets. No more following the torpedos and cleaning mess after mess!

I was hopeful these would actually work- doubtful, LOL, but still hopeful... I was wrong. They didn't stick. I followed the instructions exactly- but one swift move to open the door and it popped right off (bringing some door paint with it). Maybe it would work best on a totally smooth surface? Our doors have a touch of wood grain. OH well- worth a shot... not sure if I can find another use for them?

I love these and put them on all of our sliding mirrored closet doors. They make opening the closet take 1 sec. longer than usual but saves lots of time not having to clean up all my shoes that our toddler pulls out! Remember to leave a little space between the opposing door and this device to make it easier for closing.

Wonderful product. Does exactly what it says it does. The photo shows a wooden sliding door. I'm using it on flimsy plastic sliding doors and it works wonders. I just wish the sticky backing was stronger. If an adult pulled against it, it would probably fall off. However, it's works great in preventing children and animals from opening the door and entering the closet.

These don't stick at all! I tried putting it on a sliding door (not double door) and every time we open it, it just pops off. I considered returning it, but I'd have to spend the same amount to send it back as the amount I'd get for returning it, so it's not worth it. Don't buy!!!

I purchased this as an option to keep my kids' room clean. They were always getting into the closet and throwing their clothes around their room. They are still young (2 &4) and don't understand clean up, so I put their toys in bins and in the closet. It is very inventive and useful. However, the foam sticker mount was very flimsy and it fell off almost immediately. I followed all of the instructions and it still couldn't hold. The set comes with two so I used the other sticker provided and the kids knocked it off when they opened the closet doors. I ended up nailing it into the closet doors to get it to stay properly.
