Push-Button Toilet Safety Lock

Item #: 14866

More sanitary, less obtrusive! We like this low-profile toilet latch because it's easier and more hygienic than others we tested. It not only requires less handling, you can disengage it completely once baby's in bed. (Your guests will barely notice it's there.) And it's more sanitary, too, because it mounts to the lid, not inside the bowl like some (ick!). With push-button lock and red/green visual indicator, so one glance confirms that it's locked.

Comments about Dorel Juvenile Group Push-Button Toilet Safety Lock:

This concept is great in keeping the kids from toppling over into the toilet and for keeping bigger items out of the toilet. The toilet lid can still be lifted about an inch up so smart little ones can still get smaller items into the toilets as well as delicate fingers and hands. Just be aware of this. Otherwise, I love the concept of them locking on the outside and not on the inside where it is exposed to human waste.

This product is actually not bad but I had to return it because none of my toilets have screws. I have new, water efficient toilets and the seat is not attached with screws and basically it will not fit. I was disappointed!

Comments about Dorel Juvenile Group Push-Button Toilet Safety Lock:

I love this little thing. However, my husband, not so much. Although it did give for a great laugh.

With it installed you can lift up the lid but not the seat. All I could hear was my husband cursing in the bathroom and the seat falling over and over. So thanks for the laughs.

I am not sure if we will keep it. But if its a girls bathroom works great. Not so much for our men.

Had one of these for my first child. We bought three more for all of our toilets when our second child hit the toddler stage. Even our three year old can use them. Easy to keep clean, no way our baby can get around the lock.

This item was suppose to stop my 18 month old from going into the toilet to play with the water however I bought new toilet seats and the system went on smoothly by would not close or lock. I even tried the system on the old toilets and it did the same thing. My toilet seats are standard seats so it should have worked. I opened one but I am sending the other one back.

Comments about Dorel Juvenile Group Push-Button Toilet Safety Lock:

This product is actually a very useful product. It did what it was suppose to do and keep my curious toddler from playing in the toilet. It was just a little too big for my toilet. The toilet lock stuck out too far and caused the toilet lid to fall on you while you were using it and my daughter hated that plus it was a little hard for my five year old to unlock it herself. I had to return it and get an easier one for my daughters sake.

Comments about Dorel Juvenile Group Push-Button Toilet Safety Lock:

I tried the less expensive locks first. This is the first one my toddler couldn't defeat. It was so easy to install. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because I think the lock could close the seat a little tighter.

Comments about Dorel Juvenile Group Push-Button Toilet Safety Lock:

I got this and thought it would be hard to install, so I waited for my husband to do it, since he's handy. Well he was busy and didn't get around to it, so I opened the box and read the instructions...10 minutes later I'd removed to toilet seat and completed the installation. This works great! We love it! It's easy to use and even our guests have quickly figured it out. It keeps our daughter(nearly 24 months) out of the toilet--a huge improvement over the "tea parties" she's had a time or two. For safety, this is perfect and, since she's been unable to get into the toilet since we installed this about 6 months ago, she's lost interst. The one thing with this is there is some room with our thin, not fancy seat. She could technically lift the seat lid up a bit and stick things in there, but she hasn't figured it out and I'm not going to tell her. This works great for its intended purpose of keeping toddlers from being able to reach into the toilet or accidently fall in. For our bathroom, which happens to double as a hallway into another part of our home, this was an absolute necessity and it does its job well!

One of the best purchases I've made in a long time! Our then 15-m-o was increasingly interested in what was in the toilet, and this stopped him in his tracks. Now he's not only completely lost interest (not sure what this says about his natural sense of curiosity ;-) but he's taken to closing the lock himself when he 'helps' me flush! I couldn't be happier.

Comments about Dorel Juvenile Group Push-Button Toilet Safety Lock:

This was simple to install! but if your hinges are plastic on your toilet seat i would suggest buying a toilet seat that has metal hinges, we started with plastic hinge and my daughter kept trying to open the lid and with her tugging at it snapped the hinges when the seat was only a month old. Though, I wish this lock was adjustable at the stopper over the lid because there is a couple of inches of space to open the lid, and its enough to slide a small toy in..
We have an older toilet so the lock fit between the tank and the lid hinge with room to spare! I love this lock as there is nothing that goes IN the bowl! I will absolutely be purchasing a second lock when we get our 2nd bathroom finished!

Great if you need to keep your toilet shut and never use it again. The lid just keeps flipping shut everytime you put it up. I bought one of the more expensive ones expecting better. Wish I'd saved my money. Now we just keep the door shut and put a door handle protector on it.

We bought just one of these at first but them decided we liked it so much we bought other for the remaining bathrooms in our home. Only downfall is for little boys that need to have the lid up to go to the bathroom they have to hold up the lid with one hand :(
