Comments about Preschool Prep Series DVD Meet the Colors:

I bought the set for my son and started playing them for him at 9 months. He is now 13 months old and started 2 weeks ago started COUNTING! He recognizes numbers and the aplhabet when his dad and I say them, and now when we count, he'll laugh when we get to "six" and continues with "seven", and as of several days ago continues 7, 8 , 9 , 10 all in baby talk but very clear. He cant even talk yet,and his first official, in context word was SEVEN. We are thrilled and are confident it has to do with this dvd set. He is now starting to sound out letters, and he's 13 months old! If you are going to let your child watch TV at all, let it be learning dvds like this one.

Comments about Preschool Prep Series DVD Meet the Colors:

My child is almost 2 and constantly describes things as, "red octagon", "yellow diamond". He learned his letters, numbers, shapes, colors all at 19 months. He now knows 3 DVD's worth of sight words. We just ordered the sight words reading books (and the phonics dvd set) from the company and I am super excited to see how fast he will catch on to reading sentences. I promise i dont work for the company, i just want to share what really works.

Comments about Preschool Prep Series DVD Meet the Colors:

I am a stay at home mom to my 19 month twins but I was a school teacher for 16 years and academics are very important in our household. I started my girls on this series around 9 months and by 12 months, they knew every letter and it's sound (I used Leap Frog Letter Factory for Phonics), shape, color, can count to 20, even though the DVD only goes to 10, and they can read every single sight word...In addition, to the DVD's I work very hard with my girls...We also used the Sight words Flashcards and Alphabet Flashcards...They are now almost 20 months and they can read, speak Spanish, know the days of the week and all their body parts, in English and Spanish...These DVD's are great learning tools and repetition is excellent for this age group because that's how they learn. Although this is a wonderful series, nothing can replace the power of a parents interaction and re-enforcement with their child...I know my girls are way ahead of the curve but that's because I put in the work it takes to be GREAT!

Comments about Preschool Prep Series DVD Meet the Colors:

This DVD seems to be very educational. My daughter is 1 and it holds her attention for a while. It does have different levels to view it at depending on level of attention span. Like the reviews say it is very repetitive, but I think it is helpful for a child to learn and remember a letter. I chose 3 stars because we haven't watched it enough yet.

Started showing these to my son around age 12 months. By 14 months he knew all of the names of the letters. By 18 months he could identify all letters, numbers, colors, and shapes. He is in love with these concepts and we have preschool prep to thank!

We bought this for my son shortly after his first birthday. He LOVED them from the start. A year later he knows his colors, shapes, alphabet, numbers 1-10, and is now picking out sight words. My whole family is amazed, and I owe it all to these DVDs. Work great in the car too.

My daughter loves the one on colors. The repeditive concept of this video just annoys me. But since she loves it so much, I play it for her. I do recommend this video. My daughter may not get all the colors right just yet, she does walk around saying her colors.

Both my 13m and 2 yr old love it and ask for it repeatedly. My 13m old is fairly nonverbal but now makes many alphabet sounds after less than 2 weeks. I usually play it while I make lunch or dinner to help transition them to a less active mode. Wish I had this when my first son was younger.

Comments about Preschool Prep Series DVD Meet the Colors:

These videos are great but only if you use them at the right time. I have bought all 7 of the videos in the "Meet the ..." series (including Sight Words 1-3). I bought 2 at first, and over time bought the rest since my son loves to watch these. I only show my son educational videos and very little regular TV. The first time I showed these videos to my son at 18 months, he showed no interest. The concept of learning from videos was new to him. For introducing learning videos, I recommend the Leapfrog Letter Factory. After about 1 month of the Letter Factory, and after he had mastered the phonical sound of the letters, I re-introduced the Meet the Numbers and Colors videos and he was hooked. Now he's 26 months, he has watched all 7 videos and loves them. In fact, my son doesn't speak much yet but he can count, say his letters, colors, and shapes from watching these videos. We are still working on the sight words. He understands that the videos are suppose to be teaching him something. I think these videos are great but you have to introduce them at the right time in your child's development. I also think that even if your child doesn't show interest, keep introducing it to them and when they catch on, they will love them. I recommend these videos around the 2 year age range.

We bought this as a Christmas gift for our daughter who is 27 months. We were skeptical but she LOVES it. It sounds repetetive but it did help her master the material. I try not to sit in the room while she watches it but she asks for it every day. Kids love it, parents are less excited about it.

I have the first four dvds and I love them. My daughter started watching them at about a year and a half and it didn't take very long for her to know all her colors shapes numbers(up to 10) and letters. She really enjoys the videos and now she is almost 3 and still wants to watch them. The only thing I would change is the numbers video, it only goes to ten, I would have loved for it to go to twenty. I have recently ordered the sight words dvds and am confident my daughter and I will both love them too. I would recomend this to everyone!

We absolutely love these DVDs. While I have to say that I am surprised that my son likes them so much, he does. They do seem a bit repetitive but they totally engage him. He begs to watch them. We got him Shapes first when he was a little over one and he knew all the shapes in no time. He now has the colors, numbers and the alphabet ones as well. He is 2 just barely and has known his entire alphabet for about 6 months--it only took him about 2 weeks or less to learn it with these. Well worth the money.
