I am not handy at all, and I was able to put this together myself, but you really need two people to attach the lid...I did it alone and it was pretty difficult! The wood itself is pretty solid, and it looks very nice in my 1 year old son's nursery. I also like that the lid is slow close, and there is a gap between the lid and front of the trunk to prevent little fingers getting crushed! My only complaint would be that there were some chips in the wood on the side right out of the box, so it was sent to me like that, but they were small and I decided to let it go.

Beautiful design. The name was larger than expected which was nice. Since my grandson has a short name, we were able to get the entire name on it. Looks great in his bedroom. I gave it 4 stars because the bottom is kind of flimsy.

Love the chest and my daughter's name appears very well on it. Wish I could add a small wire rack on to it for the small toys. They get lost at the bottom. Also love that it is made in the USA!

We got this for my son's 2nd birthday and LOVE it! It has lots of room and he loves that it has his name on it. We plan to get another one for our second son who is due in May.

Holes for screws weren't the right size, making the construction of the toy box impossible until the holes were redrilled. Not for novices.

Great storage unit. My grandson loved to see his name prominently displayed and showed me each letter. He could not wait to climb inside. The latch was perfect for protecting small fingers (as is the design). The bottom is not designed to hold the weight of a 3 year old for too long, however.

Beautiful box, but have not assembled yet. Little disappointed with the size of the name. Name seems too small for box and the letters aren't as visible as the picture shows.

I bought two (one for each child). Clean-up is now easy and not a hassle. We throw everything into the chest and the room is clean. I did have them personalized with their names. I wish the names showed up more. I painted the indention of their name in the color of their room. Really helps the name stand out!

I am very pleased with the quality and durability of this toy box. Assembly was very easy and took about 20 minutes. My favorite thing about this toy box is the safety lid -- my 15 month old cannot get hurt. He must actively close the toy box -- it never falls on his fingers. I've had this for three months and am back to purchase a second for my mother's house.

We have contemporary taste and really like the clean, simple design of this toy chest. [...] We're sure our daughter will enjoy digging into her toys, and we're glad we won't have to worry about the top falling on her thanks to the sturdy safety hinge. All we needed was a screwdriver to assemble it. For the person that needed a drill...I'm wondering if the manufacturer just forgot to drill the holes? Sorry you had that problem. Overall, we're happy with the quality for the price. We definitely didn't want to spend $500+ on a toy chest, and we feel this chest is probably the best for this style in this price range.

Very well made. Company should have an option to actually chose the color of the name. I ordered the natural color/ wood but the name really does not pop out, a little color would have been great. Overall great product.

Well made and a good investment. The personalized name looks great as well. When we first opened the box and unwrapped the plastic covering it smelled a little like paint fumes, but after a few hours it went away. Overall we are happy with the purchase.
