My son loves this swing. He has autism and loves the sensory input he gets from it. It is a bit heavy to hang up, but it is very sturdy. The platform swing and sling swing is his favorite, but every now and then he request this one.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

    My son is 2.5 and not yet walking but likes lots of sensory input and loves to swing. This swing forces him to balance and shift his weight. He loves to swing in it now, rain or shine! I also bought the clamps so it's not permanently mounted and it works great.
