Ease the sippy cup transition, with this true, hard-to-find, training cup! No sippy spout here—the removable lid has cutouts all around, which limits beverage flow and minimizes mess, but otherwise handles like a big-kid cup. Once your child masters the art of drinking from a cup, remove the training lid, and it's a great beginner's cup. Trainer cup is translucent, with non-slip grips. Holds 7 ounces. For ages 12 months and up. Dishwasher safe. Please note: While this product is safety tested for kids 12 mos. and up, we recommend use for kids approximately 2 or 3 years old or when your child is ready to start transitioning to a big kid cup. Comments about OXO Toddler Training Cup GREEN:
My daughter loves learning with this cup. I would recomend only using it while closely supervising your child - my daughter likes to dump the whole cup on her tray or the table.
This cup is KEY

About Me Parent of Two or More Children
My 4 year old autistic son struggled with migrating over to a regular cup -- always insisting on sippy cups. He wouldn't even touch a regular cup or allow someone to help him with a regular cup. Thankfully, his pre-k teacher introduced us to the OXO Toddler Training Cup. He felt safe drinking from it because it looks like a sippy cup (which, it kind of is). The clear shield inside made him feel comfortable yet was able to see the liquid as he drank. A WEEK after using it, he was using a regular cup like a PRO. I would recommend this to anyone who has a child that is completely resistant to using a regular cup AND to those who don't but want a faster transition.

Not worth it!

I was so excited about this product because I thought it was a great idea! But, it didn't work at all!! You might as well have used a regular cup...
Works great

I have been trying to get my son off the sippy cup's, all though he just turned two, i felt it was time and plus he did try to drink from a reg cup before,so i decided to bring this out and he got a hold of his and did great, first we did water and if it spelled i didn't care about it, but now that he's got a hang of it, we use it more then his sippy cups, and we take his sippy cups out ,and use the cups at hm. for now!
Not for 1 yr olds but will be useful....

I bought this for my 13 month old who will not drink milk out of a sippy cup hoping this might help. The holes in the top are large and there is no way to "spill proof" the contents. The first thing my daughter did was tilt the cup back too far and milk was all over her face, the floor, etc. It was also hard for her to hold. I gave this item 3 stars because I would imagine that this cup will be helpful in a few months when we begin to transition her to a bigger cup. For now, we are back to sippy cups.
Great Transition to Regular Cup
By Amber

My daughter just turned three and I am phasing out the sippie cups so this is perfect. Before she used it for the first time I showed her in the sink how it was a "big girl" cup and could spill so she had to be careful and she has done a great job. She loves using this cup.
useless

This product was no more effective than drinking from an actual cup. First time my son used it he was covered in milk.

Cleaner Drinks

Not really different from a regular drinking cup. However, I love that the plastic lid prevents my little one from sticking her utensils/hands/food into her drink.

Not that great
By Stay at home Sara

I was being optimistic when I purchased one, hoping it would help my daughter move away from sippy cups. Unfortunately, most of her milk spilled from the multiple openings all the way around the lid. The design could be improved if there were fewer openings in the lid; as it is, too much flows out. I would not recommend this to a friend.

Seems ok
By Busy mom

Seems like it would be a good product if I could get my daughter to use it. She is still very attached to her sippy cup. It is easy to use and you can just put it in the dishwasher.

I bought this cup to help my son transition from a normal sippy cup, but it doesn't really do what the description says. There are cut-outs on the top but the fluid just flows freely to the top of the cup when it's tilted up for a drink-my son several times got way too much water in mouth. It's like using a regular glass or cup. I only used it a couple of times but that was enough. The cup is very well-made and durable and easy to clean, but something needs to be changed to make it more effective. Some kind of a valve to slow the fluid would be good.
HORRIBLE-Don't even bother with this.

The ad makes it sound like this cup will have a small opening for the toddler to drink from to learn how to use a cup. Actually, it has several small openings. Giving that to a young child is about the same as giving them a sieve tp play with.

Water flows!
By The Tall One
from Midlothian, VA
I bought this to use instead of a sippy cup as I've been having problems with my daughter in this transition. The product is advertised that the holes around the lid slow the flow...my experience is that they don't...AT ALL! It's a great cup, just not if you are worried about your child spilling the contents!

would buy for older kids
By katie
from seymour il
the cup is good for my 2 1/2 year old, but my 1 year old still throws cups on the floor when he is done and the valve in the cup comes undone and then it spills everywear. So fine for older, not so good if still in the drop and mommy pick up stage.
did not work as expected

This cup does not work as well as I thought it would. Liquid flows out of it as fast as a normal cup. It does not minimize spills.
