IT's very pink, but it's a great house with loads of furniture and loads of space. The garden spots and the windmill are a favorite. It's built well and i put it together with no problem. Love it!

Some reviews I had read before buying this house for my daughter had said assembly took 2 or more hours were slightly misleading. I used a power drill and it took me 35-40 minutes to put together. All the pieces were sturdy and well made, my daughter loves it!

Grampa and I wanted something different from the run-of-the-mill dollhouse, and this is it! Beautifully made, some "green" features, including solar panels. Lots and lots of gorgeous furniture. Our grandchildren adore it. Heck, *we* adore it!

My daughter got this set for Christmas last year. It arrived banged up, and the furniture has come apart.

This dollhouse was the only thing on my daughter's Christmas list. I love the "eco" aspect. Oddly enough, she loved the recycling cans the most. As well as the spiral staircases. The furniture itself is only so-so. She actually is enjoying coloring in the furniture with markers to give it her own style and really make it her own. I also love that because it is 3 pieces that she can move the different parts of the house around for her different modes of play. Great job guys!

I was so excited to find a wooden doll house that included a lot of furniture. The set arrived with several pieces cracked- one of the stairs and one of the desks. The house took a long time to assemble, but looks nice once together. The only things i would improve are thaT the stairs twirl around freely and that the bannisters do not connect to the house. After a couple play sessions with my very careful 3 year old girl, two more pieces of furniture broke. Luckily I got this on sale- I certainly would not pay full price for this. I would recommend buying the Separate wooden furniture ( hape, I believe) - I bought an extra set of nursery furniture and it is much better quality that what came with the house. My daughter loves the house, but is disappointed when the prices break.

Doll house is adorable and my 3yr old daughter loves it, but directions are a joke and we received the wrong bottom posts for and have had to improvise in order to finish the assembly on entire right wing of the house. Maker of this doll house needs to review their instructions and make sure when packing they pay better attention to detail of parts.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my twin 5 year olds. My friend and I spent about 15 minutes taking everything out of the box and laying it out but once we did that it only took her 45 minutes to put it together. I think it turned out great. It is plenty big for all three of my kids to play with if they want. The comments about the roof not being attached well is kind of misleading, if you slide the unit together, so that the side pieces are kind of hooked under the middle then there is no way that they would come up or off. I love it and can not wait until they unwrap it Christmas morning. My only problem is two pieces of furnature were broken so I do hope they replace them as easily as many of the reviews said. But even with that I am very happy with my purchase!!!

We read the previous comments and followed the assembly tips from others who had already had the experience of putting this house together. Make sure you label all parts before trying to construct the house. It took my daughter and I less than 2 hours to assemble.

My husband and I set out to assemble this dollhouse for our daughter's birthday gift. Once we opened the box both he and I both groaned in disappointment at the chaos within the box: many, many pieces and vague instructions. We were quite surprised when the assembly went together quicker than we thought it would. The true disappointment came when we realized the two side wings' roofs and third floor columns are not secured to the rest of the structure and will just pop off. The main part of the house (center piece) has braces that connect the entire structure making it very sturdy, but the braces for the side wings don't connect the roof. This is an especially poor design for the left wing since the staircase can easily fall apart once the columns slide off! This design flaw would not affect a child sitting nicely playing pretty, but our playroom gets a lot of action and visitors.

We chose this dollhouse because of the number of rooms and assortment of furniture and are sad it didn't work out for us. Also, the solar roof panel piece is badly chipped and appears to be worn for some reason compared to the other roof pieces.

Customer service was a delight to deal with as I arranged return shipping. The rep actually went over the directions with me and made notes to pass along. I was honestly surprised that this product made it past testing with no mention of the unsecured pieces. My husband I see no benefit whatsoever to being able to remove the roof and columns for play and ultimately feel this is just a design flaw or manufacturing mistake.

Since the directions lack detail---only a schematic rendering, I have a few suggestions if you care to take them.First I sorted out all the pieces and labeled them according to the piece content page with a number or letter for the group held on by a small piece of scotch tape at a corner of each group or individual piece,and also kept them alphabetically and numerically close together. Be sure to look at the ends of the columns to know that column C has a screw hole on the bottom while the D's have a large hole for the dowels.
When putting this together I found it easier where multiple screws were used to start them first in the small inset hole, push the screw so the head of the screw was flush with the bottom side of the piece,turn it a few times on each screw then push the screw back towards the piece it is being screwed into to insure you are screwing it in straight.There really isnt room for any error -- the screws have to be straight. Also, I held the pieces between my knees to put the bottom columns on. After you have the piece partway screwed in then go back over it and screw it in the rest of the way. When lowering the doweled pieces make sure you line them all up at once and lower it all at once also. Look for any smaller holes in each piece because those pieces will have to be screwed on before you place the floor pieces on-- for example, any staircase, the little round dowel rods with the slots for the porches and the triangular piece on the top of the roof.Look at your pieces several times and at the diagram or you may use the wrong piece as many of them are similar just mirror images of each other or look just a like except have an extra hole which makes it another entirely different piece.
I am usually good at putting things together but with no consecutive instructions-- just a schematic drawing it was a challenge for me and took me about 2 1/2 hours.
I will say the customer service is great. One of the little beds had its head board snapped off and I had a new one in a few days. The furniture is study and reinforced too, colorful, and has little doors and drawers.Line the sticker up the first time where you want them as they are on there once they hit the surface.
The only thing I didnt like about it was that the railings were not secured by screws to keep them in place. The workman ship on all of it was exceptional and I would recommend this one to any pink plastic one any day of the week. You can take the thing apart easily into 3 seperate houses and the kids can play all around it, instead of just one side. Another pointer is that you have to figure out is to get the floor boards to match up without a gap as well as the roof of all three sections when they are together is to lift the middle section so the roof fits over the other two side roof pieces. Do that by holding the section low-- not by the roof.
If you chose to put this together I do hope that my insight has helped you. My husband who looked at it a few times decided he'd let me tackle it alone--ha! He is a mechanic too. He sure was surprised when it was put together the next morning!
Good luck! It is worth the trouble of assembly to get the final product with out a doubt.
The only thing I was left with were some small stickers I couldnt identify and a wooden piece I had no idea what it went to.

I agree with one of the other reviewers that I wished the walls would go together but lifting the roof and sliding the sides under worked. They should have that in the directions. Plus, no dolls is a little bit of a disappointment. I would gladly give up 4 pieces of furniture to have some dolls with it. And, they don't sell the dolls on this website. A little ridiculous really. I can't seem to find any that fit the house.

We looked at a lot of the big toy store doll houses and they seemed poorly constructed of plastic. This doll house is a nice, contemporary wooden house with cute features. Our daughter can reach things from the front and back. It gives kids a chance to create their own rooms instead of the other large, plastic, gaudy looking dollhouses on the market that are simply too busy looking.

I bought this doll house for my two girls (4 and 1) for Christmas. They were excited to get it. I like that it is very open, and it is actually semi-modular, so it is easy to move and carry. Plus it comes with furniture, and the price is right. My husband put it together in under an hour.

But, the reviewer who mentions that it has a strong plastic fume was exactly right. When I read I was getting a wooden dollhouse, I was not expecting one coated with some sort of plastic. It's about two weeks later, and the scent is mostly gone. If this is a concern to you, buy something else.

Overall I'm very disappointed in this dollhouse. I've ordered many things from One Step Ahead and they've always been of great quality. I'm surprised that they would endorse this product. In addition to my disappointment with the product, I feel the description it terribly misleading...heirloom quality, all natural wood (NOT!). Here is what I disliked...

1. Very difficult to put together...the pieces are not even labeled.
2. Smells terrible!
3. Made of cheap fiberboard, not natural wood
4. Furniture is very cheap! When we received it, 3 of the pieces were already broken.
5. One day after having it, one of the stairs broke off.
