These panels are great. All of our magnetic letters and fun fridge magnets fit on 4 panels and we have a lot! My 8 and 5 year olds like to play school with the panels, or spell their spelling words. My 2 year old likes to play with his leapfrog fridge phonics on it, which is very heavy, but sticks to the panel just fine. I have had no problems with the double sided tape holding the panels up. The have been up for about a month with dozens of magnets on them and they are still holding strong. The only minor issue I have with them is that they came with very excessive packaging. One large box for each panel, when all 4 could have probably fit into one or two? Otherwise, we are enjoying the panels, and I wish I would have bought them years ago when I first saw them

Works great! holds all magnets even the very heavy ones well. Only complaint is when you pull at one of the stronger magnets the board pulls forward and strains on the tabs that stick it to the wall. This is easily correctable. I will secure it again using a lot more double sided tape.

One panel which is [$] is not quite big enough...little hands then get the cool magnetic pen, sold separately on the wall. Not sure why not washable. Doesn't erase well from the board....

I've only used one panel but it seems like a good concept. I have an easel with ABC magnets but plan to get animal magnets to allow my 2 year old to use these panels.

I suppose the product could be worthwhile in the right application, but for the money it is simply not worth it. It is a very thin, flimsy design. Though magnets do stick to it, it can't be mounted securely to the wall because of the thinness of it.

I love the concept and it works perfectly for us; I bought 4 to panel a large space in the walkway to my son's play room. I was worried when I read the other reviews that they would be too difficult to deal with, but they were perfect and my son loves them. Unfortunately, 1 of the panels was damaged in transit and showed up at my door basically folded in half, but I hope to be able to have that panel exchanged for a 'flat' one.

Love this!!! Such a cool idea, I'd been wanting to get our daughter a magnet board; I didn't want her to be playing in the kitchen, and this doesn't take up any extra space. She's not too into it now, but the older she gets I know she will be!
And I Love the fact that it's a dry erase board. She will probably use this for a very long time, if not forever.

In the picture it looks big, well I didn't pay attention to the dimensions! It's 18 x24. On comparison to the picture it was very small. We were really disappointed.

I may not have read the fine print but we did not realize that these boards are made of thin card board. The first ones that were sent out were packaged poorly and arrived bent. One Step Ahead was very helpful and replaced them happily. Our son is enjoying them and they are a great idea.

My son has Autism so I thought I'd buy this since he is obsessed with letters and numbers and also to help him write. WELL first off I think mine was a return because it came all messed up and the stickers were already on the back. We got the clouds design and I unless you are getting a lot of them it's a waste of money. Even if you get a lot of them I see what others are saying about dead spots. Well it's a Bday gift so I'm not returning it. Oh well! Oh and as far as writing Im scared to try although it may come out good with a Magic Eraser from Mr. Clean! So maybe I'll try a small corner.

Read about the border issue so I only ordered one to start. Used a box cutter to cut the excess border off and it was easy, since there is a clear edge where the magnetized part ends. I am using it in our kitchen and framing a total of 6 to put cool artwork completed by my 3 year old and the letter and number magnet sets for her to play with. Fun, colorful and something for play and a place we can display her works of art!

I love the idea, but this product is not well made and not at all durable. We gave our son 2 of the grid panels for Christmas so he could draw and practice writing. Even if we wipe/scrub the panels immediately after our son has written on them, the board is still marked up. A typical scenario: "You wrote your name, great! Please move over quickly so I can wipe this off with all my might, knowing it still won't come clean!" I wish I could attach a picture because both boards are hazy clouds of blue/red/green/black. The word magic should not be used to describe these.

Despite the mixed reviews I decided to give these panels a try. I had already tried magnetic paint that didn't work very well despite three coats, and researched numerous business options that were out of my price range. As far as these panels go, they seemed to have fixed the bent corners issue I saw in other reviews by adding a cardboard "frame" around each piece. [...] The tape sent with the panels is insufficient and leaves a gap between the panel and the wall which I was sure would cause the panels to break down under pressure from my kids. I bought double sided duct tape and made sure the tape ran along the seams. So far the panels have held up well and my kids have really enjoyed using all of their magnetic toys, which have been in a box since the stainless steel fridge. They do still have a 1/2" border that is not magnetic, but my kids work around it. I really like the dry erase side with the grid lines for their art work and letter writing. If this is for casual use by kids I would definitely recommend these as a cost effective solution.

Very disappointed when I opened the box. The magnetic part doesn't go to the edges, so there will be a "dead" area around each panel (if multiple panels are put together) and the smaller magnets will not hold. The paper was even comming apart on most of the corners. They looked so much better in the magazine/internet.
