Lock Release Fridge Latch by Safety 1st

Comments about Safety 1st Lock Release Fridge Latch:
The adhesive pad on half of the lock did not adhere to the metal of the refridgerator. The metal was cleaned according to instructions. This was a complete waste of time and money. I purchased a similar lock from a home big box store for less than half the price that works great. I am very dissatisfied.

Should not be so easy to break!!

We have a side by side fridge. Our 2 year old likes to open the fridge side and pull things out. We bought this and placed it on the top like the instructions indicated. The little clip that is supposed to keep the door from opening broke off the very first time she opened it!

Didn't work at all. My son went to open the fridge and the whole lock came off with the door. Did not stick to the fridge at all.

Fridge Lock

this product is a wonderful deterrent but problematic in design. the sticky tape failed early (it may have been sitting in a warehouse for years...) and the plastic clamp broke on our first pair. still, a very good product.
pretty ok

The first set broke because everyone kept forgetting they were there and pulled the doors too hard but this was the only thing that has ever been a practical way to keep my toddler out of the fridge. They'll do
Great until they wear off

These were great for a very young child (under 3) on previous fridge. Although eventually if pulled on enough or accidentally tried to open by adults it wears off. But, it is inexpensive enough to have extras. However, once the child is about 3 they can just rip it off. Also, new fridge is not exactly parallel on top, so it won't work- check fridge before buying.
Love it!

Love that my granddaughters can no longer take out items and cover the house with them! Just have to be careful you remember to hold the clip down when you do open the doors.

Recieved one of them damaged

Poor quality, i recieved one of them broke into two pieces.
best solution so far, could be sturdier
My two year old will not stay out of the fridge! I bought these after trying several others that were just too easy for him to override or wouldn't stay on. This one has worked the best so far. Downsides? My six year old has to push a chair over and climb up just to open the fridge so that's a bit inconvenient. The other? The latch broke when someone (husband/son not sure) forgot it was there and pulled the door. Also, we had to superglue them to the fridge door because the adhesive didn't want to stay so this replacement should be interesting...
I would buy this product again and again

Too early to tell
By Sepisllib

Bought the unit so that my new residential fridge I put into our Motorhome doors would not swing open when driving or turning. From indications thus far - they seem to fit the need nicely. Did have to modify latch to fit - cut off back side about 1/4 inch, then added glue to the sticky pad to make sure it would actually stick.
Not worth buying

This item looks great and is easy to install, but doesn't stay one. I used super glue to the adhesive and it still didn't stay one. I finally had to buy an extra strength sticky tape and that seems to work okay at the moment for my freezer chest. I like the way it looks and ideally should work, just wish it stayed on better!
