We really like having this. We've used it since our son was about 16 months (with close supervision). He enjoys helping us around the kitchen, and being on the same level as us when we're prepping food. The only downside is that it's open on two sides, and he can get in and out of it easily by himself.

We love our Kitchen Helper! My two year old granddaughter loves standing at the counter with MawMaw helping with food prep, doing craft time at the island, and "washing" dishes at the sink. I love that she is protected from falling by the four walls that surround her. She began using the Kitchen Helper when she was about 18 months old. As she has grows we adjust the platform to a lower level. This is a wonderful, valuable, safe, and attractive piece of furniture. When not in use it folds closed and stands in our utility room. I highly recommend to parents and grandparents!

My two-year-old always wants to help do the dishes and cook, but she wanted to balance on a stepping stool. This is so nice because I dont have to worry about her stepping off the side and hurting herself.

This stool was on my daughter's wish list for our 2 year old granddaughter. She learned very quickly how to climb in and out of the stool and loves to stand at the kitchen counter while Mom is cleaning or preparing a meal. They both love using the step stool!

My 18 month old daughter loves to be at the counter and help me cook. This stool is the greatest invention. Now, she'll stand next to me while I cook dinner every night and she doesn't complain.

Highly recommend for any mom who needs to cook dinner and wants a happy baby while you do so.

I have the white stool so my problem might just be related to that color. My daughter loves playing in the sink with this stool. For hours she can "wash dishes". Of course water gets everywhere. I guess I didn't do a great job cleaning up the water because the next day I noticed white paint chips on the floor. So I guess the feet of the stool were still a little wet causing the paint to chip. Besides that it is great!

Comments about One Step Ahead Kids Kitchen Helper Safety Tower Step Stool WHITE:

The safety tower step stool has made dinner prep time at my house amazingly pleasant! Before we had the step stool my daughter just stood around and cried because she wanted to participate in what was going on with dinner prep on the counter above but there was no way that I could hold her while making dinner. Now she gets up and down from her step stool as she pleases and can see/help with everything going on the kitchen island. I was extremely hesitant about buying the step stool as it is definitely an investment but I have not regretted it for one moment since we received it - Great buy!

I bought this for my 20-month-old, because she loves to play in the sink while I am cooking. Although she is a little young for it (and a little short), it gets used daily in my house. She loves to stand at the kitchen counter and color or play with Play-dough. I will warn you that it is very bulky and very heavy. It is very safe and sturdy, though. The veneer has already chipped in a few places, but that is just cosmetic. I will add, though, that a bolt must be removed in order to fold-it, so keep that in mind if you have a small space.

We have 3 grandchildren who love to help in the kitchen. We had always used chairs but there is always the concern of them falling. We have looked at this for over a year, it is not cheap, but are so glad we got it. It takes much of the worry out of them being up at the counter and sink. It looks good, is sturdy, tucks away well, and the kids like it. My only con would be a better way to screw the foot board down so you don't have to have an allen wrench near by. NOt sure what that answer would be. thank you.

I LOVE the idea of this product. My 18 month old figured out how to climb in herself within 2 weeks of having it and she is a much happier baby when she is up high and can see everything we're doing in the kitchen. Makes meal times and any time in general much more fun.
The downside. The first one we received had 3 large scratches in it and the bottom panels were not straight- they didn't align with the sides and the quality looked very poor. I called OSA and they sent me another one, while I sent mine back. The second one had no scratches, but the bottom panels still were not flat. My husband was VERY disappointed in the quality, considering it is not cheap, but in the end we decided to keep it b/c my daughter loves it.
ALSO- wish it came in an oak color. The cherry is too dark for my kitchen and I don't like the idea of white :(

Comments about One Step Ahead Kids Kitchen Helper Safety Tower Step Stool WHITE:

Now that we've had this stool for several months, I feel I can review it more completely. We got the white to match our white kitchen. The first tower we received looked damaged and also had completely rusted screws. I sent it back and was wary about our second. It arrived with clean screws but poor quality on the painted finish. After using this for several months, the paint is now literally flaking off, even in areas that are not "high use" like along the inner legs. I mostly use baby wipes or a cloth diaper and a spray of water to clean it, so it's not the products I'm using. It feels generally less stable when my 27 lb toddler stands on it, like it constantly needs tightening. Some of the wood pieces along the platform are splitting, too. I think I will have my husband try to repaint it with a more durable paint, although removing all the hinges will be a huge pain. I really wish I had bought the sturdier learning tower elsewhere. This stool does fold up, which is the only redeeming feature of it these days. It's shabby and beat up after less than a year of gentle use by one little girl. I'm really disappointed.
