A charming way to inspire kids to save, while teaching kids about money! This classic-look kids' piggy bank is equipped with an electronic coin counter, so kids can see their savings add up. And they can add along with the digital display, reinforcing math and money skills. Electronic piggy bank looks ceramic, but it's unbreakable plastic. Good value, too! Requires 2 "AA" batteries (sold separately). For ages 4 and up. See Product Details

A good idea that needs a better design!!

About Me Parent of Two or More Children
This product is a good idea but very poor design! The device that counts the money is VERY stiff and difficult for the children to push the money past. If they can push the coin through it works just fine. However, it is so stiff that it often pops the coin back out. When it does this, it has gone ahead and counted the coin, so the actual value of coins in the bank is incorrect. The children then have to remove the coins and start over again. The whole counting mechanism needs to be redesigned. I would have returned it instantly except that my daughter saved so long for it and is so young that she did not care that it has this huge design flaw.

nice, but hard for little fingers
By mommalu

I was looking for a non breakable piggy bank, and this item surely covers that. The counter was a great bonus. But the spring measure that counts the money as you put it through the slot makes it hard for little guys to get in through. the age does say 4, and my guy is 3.5, but very coordinated for his age and still has a bit of a hard time. hopefully he gets the hang of it soon.

About Me Grandparent
Only drawback was that 4-yr old has some difficulty figuring out how best to use the spring to put his coins in the bank. Love the categories.
