Kids Coat Cubby by Guidecraft

We LOVE our Cubby. My kids now have a specific place to put their coats, shoes, and bags. They feel grown-up and special having their own cubby.

I was so excited to get this cubby and finally organize my son's jackets and shoes. I waited for it to get delivered and started putting it together the same day I got it. Unfortunately, one of the parts was deffective (the holes did not lign up) so I had to call and order a replacement. Customer service was great and they shipped the correct part out right away but I still had to wait for a few days until I could finish putting it together. Now it's all done and it looks great!

My husband had no difficulty assembling coat cubby. If you can put together Ikea furniture this will be no problem for you. My daughter (age 2 1/2) was soooo excited when she came home and saw it, she immediately hung up her coat and put her hat and shoes away too. Great prep for preschool and one more thing she can do for herself.

After reading the reviews, I kept expecting a problem from this product. The first board I took out was thin and I thought oh boy, but it was the back panel, the rest were solid and thicker. I kept expecting a piece to be chipped or not fit and I was completely happy with the whole thing. I put it together myself without any real trouble. Just had to make sure the back panel fit into the side panel grooves - oh and I did get a splinter in the process. But I'm goint to order another for their extra curricular days (like soccer).

The manufacturing of the product was dissapointing as we had to modify it to make the top fit. There was a missing hole. Otherwise, the cubby space helps with diminishing clutter.

We use this in our entryway and its great for coats/backpacks, etc. Once we finally got it put together, we loved it. However, my husband and I are both educated and have put together several [@]pieces, and this was very difficult to assemble. The pictures on the description were tricky to read (not correct in where holes, etc. were), and it was very difficult to get everything aligned to screw together (took both of us and was super awkward). We love the end product, but were not happy with the assembly.

We purchased this item because it was the only child size cubby we could find and the only one sold in a dark wood finish.

The product arrived and the wood was damaged with scratches and a bad finish job on the stain. Luckily the places where it is damaged doesn't show too much once all the kids' clothes and such are stored inside.

For the price - this should have been MUCH better quality!! Will not order this line of product ever again.

Wish it was just a little bit bigger but fits nicely by the door. Kids love putting there shoes underneath and lunch boxes up top.

Love this product, teaching our children that their "stuff" has a special place is actually catching on fast. They love having these and once it is time for jackets and coats, we will really love having them off of the floor.

It did take longer than 30 minutes to assemble, but not too bad.

I was so excited when I initially ordered this because most cubbys are one or three openings. When it arrived, the finish and quality of the wood was so poor that I returned it for a new one. I'd hoped it was just a "lemon." The replacement piece had a somewhat better finish (still scratches, muffs, and unfinished spots), but one piece was broken and I had to order a replacement part. If I was not handy with carpentry, I would not have even realized the damage to the piece. I figured out that the piece could not support the cubby as it was, but that was no thanks to the instructions, which do not clearly show what the pieces look like. I don't think this piece is worth the cost. Maybe at 2/3 or 1/2 the price I would say "buy it," but not at this price.

I got this for my twins to use as they start school. They love the seating. They are using it for putting their shoes on and storing their everyday shoes. I like that it doesn't wobble and looks nice. The hooks are well rounded so they won't get hurt if they hit their heads as they get taller. Cubbies are a nice size and they can store larger stuff on top.
