We bought the magnetic lock as we live in rented accommodation and we were not able to put screws or nails in the cupboards like you do for some other safety locks. They work perfect in our kitchen/bathrooms to keep our daughter away from dangerous items.

I put these magnetic locks under the sink in the kitchen. After reading previous reviews I was very careful to follow the instructions and they work perfectly. The best part is, I can "unlock" them when my grandbaby isn't here. And no holes to drill in my cabinets. The "key" comes with a holder so it can be put anywhere, which is handy. I definitely need more of these for other areas.

I did not want to drill holes in my cabinets and these were the only child locks I could find. I decided to try them even though they had mixed reviews. Mine have been great. They are easy to install, although make sure you have them exactly where you want because they can't be moved once stuck on. I tried to unstick and move one of the first ones I put and it was extremely hard to take off and couldn't be reused. I have had mine in about 2 months now and have had no issues.

Easy to install and the magnetic lock "opener" works like a charm. I'm unsure if the adhesive will really hold long-term, so I'm debating attaching it with the screws. But I installed it on cabinets I don't open frequently, so we'll see how it does.

We use it for under the sink. Our 15 months old girl now can not open the door and take stuff out, so it's really helping us. It's just you can't loose the key and the price is high! So I could get one set... There are too many doors we don't want her to open!

When I paid $$ for this product I was expecting a kit for my house but instead it only came with two. I bought these magnetic locks to avoid hardware/drilling installation. The mounting instructions were unclear. After unsuccessfulling mounting the locks the 1st two times the mounting adhesive for this product no longer worked. The instructions say to just install via the screws provided if adhesive mounting fails but the adhesive mount was the ONLY reason I would have to invest in this product. I had to purchase a roll of mounting adhesive at an office supply store and finally mounted it correctly at the 3rd trial!

This was very easy to install however, these are designed more for drawers than cabinets, as inherently cabinets swing shut and these have a straight alignment the latch is constantly rubbing on the base piece. I installed two locks but as soon as I opened the door one was no longer aligned. After waiting the 24 hours required to activate the lock I found out that the other wasn't even latching at all. Worthless. Wasted[$]. I guess my son will just play with the pots and pans.

I really like the fact that my daughter can't even crack open the cabinet with these and she won't be able to "figure it out" like the push down ones. They work really well. Since they are so expensive I only use this kind under the bathroom and kitchen sink and I use the cheaper ones everywhere else. Tip: DON'T LOSE THE MAGNET

I purchased this lock for a single door on my antique china cabinet that has no other way to secure. I thought this would be the perfect way to keep my 2 year old out of my crystal. While it was easy to install, the magnetic open feature would not operate on the wood door that is less than 1" thick (approx 3/4") and to make matters worse, as I tried 3-4 times to unlock the cabinet the "key" scratched the surface of the door of my antique. :-( I would definitely only use this product on cheaper grade cabinets with faux finishes, not on anything of value.

We were looking for something that wouldn't require drilling or holes on our cabinets, but would keep or toddler out of them. This item is great. It was easy to install and it's easy to use. You don't see it on the outside and it helps it our son from going into cabinets we don't want him in.

I purchased to lock the medicine cabinet in the bathroom so that my older kids can keep toothpaste inside and still be licensing compliant. It has worked beautifully and I am getting ready to buy more to try them out on the kitchen cabinets using the screws because the other brand is so difficult to install. With or without screws, this magnet lock works great.
