I bought 2 of these for 2 doors in the house we needed child proofed but still needed to open the door from both sides. With most others, once the lock is engaged, you have to manually open it to open the door. Well, one is working great but the other one fell off the door (the part that you have to "stick" on). I still like the design but it stinks that I'll have to buy another one to replace the one that didn't stick.

Our twins like to get into ordinary mischief like most toddlers, with this safety handle we know that the garage, front door, pantry and closet under the stairs are off limits. It gives you that extra piece of mind when you have to run up stairs real quick or go in the laundry room. If your a parent, you know it only takes a second.

These are easy to install, and easy to use. You have the choice of permanent install with screws or temporary with double sided sticky tape. Both work great.

Just make sure to follow ALL the instructions, or it won't work correctly.

Now...my only problem is that one of them has learned how to open them after 2 1/2 years. She is smart. It still boggles her brother, so we keep them in place. She is the only child I have had figure them out!

We have used these for 3 of our 6 children and some other children that I have watched for friends, so they have been hung on and played with. None of them have fallen apart or broke.

A little big for our lever doors. Would be nice if they were a little more snug. But over all love these!!! Great for outside doors that domes get forgotten to be deadbolted!!!

We had gotten the round lever locks from Safety 1st and they were such a hassle to use (kept breaking my nails) and didn't stick well. These are super easy to install and you can use them one-handed which is great with a little one. We wound up switching all the round ones to these because they were just so much easier. Also, the other ones would lock you in a room if someone used them from the other side - these don't do that. AND those didn't fit all our doors whereas these are kind of idiot proof that way. Highly recommend....

I was excited when I saw this item and couldn't wait to install ours. Got one for the front door and then one for the door to the laundry room which leads to the garage. The idea is great, but if you have a highly determined toddler who is strong that sucker just might pop off like mine did. We did everything we were supposed to. Even waited 24 hours before we touched them to make sure the adhesive was set solid. Very bummed and back looking for ideas so I can put a door handle back on my front door!

Can not withstand the rigors of an ingenious/determined toddler. Can not be used conveniently for an exterior door that needs to be opened by others from the outside such as your front door (which is what we needed it for.) When this product is locked on the inside, the person coming home after you has to knock and wait for you to open the door. If he/she is not aware that the lock is on, he/she may bust it by accident. Best thing to do if you own the home or can convince your landlords is to convert the door back to a regular round knob and use the standard safety door knobs. They work the best for us. Don't endanger your child by wasting time on trying to find a good product for these lever doors like we did. Once your child(ren) are old enough and obedient enough, then you can revert back to the lever. As with all things in childhood, it's only for a season! :)

I looked at many safety locks that just wouldn't serve our needs, but this one does. It fits our lever handles nicely (right and left facing), while allowing entry from the opposite side of the door, which other locks don't. It is perfect for keeping our 1 yr old from opening the door into the garage! They seem to be holding up well with the adhesive mount, but they also include screws in the package if you prefer that. They aren't difficult for adult use, but to go along with that, my 3-1/2 yr old can open them so don't count on them keeping older toddlers fooled.

One of these clever locks were installed on the entrance to our garage door when we moved in. That was three years ago. We never took it off, even though the twins came two years later...it wasn't an eyesore or a problem. It is still up. Recently we installed these ALL OVER our house and are incredibly happy with the results, for two 18 month old boys....my little adventurers...they work great. Finally a way to keep them OUT OF THE PANTRY. (and bathroom, and weight room, and bedroom, ect...lol)

Wanted to use the product to keep our Toddler from entering the garage and playing in the car (he figured out the locks) but it didn't fit our handle and would have made it difficult to lock/unlock the door for the adults.

We first bought this for a basement door and pantry. Now coming back to purchase more. We had one of big circle kind on our garage door but hated it because if it were locked, you couldn't come in through the other side. This works great for that. Easy to use with one hand. The little latch does occasionally come out of the slot when you unlock it to open it, but it's easy to slide back in place. Made of plastic, what can you expect. Comes with screws and adhesive. We used the sticky adhesive so we didn't have to puncture the door.

These locks are great. I admit I did have to call customer service because my handles point to the left and these lever locks look like they only protect handles that go to the right. I was wrong. All you have to do is open the lock and switch it around and it works. My son who is 15 months old isn't tall enough to figure out how to use the locks so these are perfect for us. I really needed one for our basement door and now have installed 4 locks.

I highly recommend these. I may need something else once my son is tall enough and old enough to figure them out. For now this is perfect.

I have tried so many different safety gadgets for our door handles. Nothing has worked. These are a decent idea, but unless you want to screw them into your door (which we don't because we rent) then don't buy them. The adhesive you use to attach the top locking part comes off too easily. They are basically worthless to us. I am not pleased at the design at all. They advertise no screws needed, but if you want to actually use this product, you need the screws -

it is really easy to install. You just have to wait 24 hours to let it stick to the door or else it will peel off. The cheapest, easiest, and most convenient door lock for french doors.
