          The mechanism to make it go can't even get it up the first hill. Some parts are poorly engineered. My two year old enjoyed playing with it.

            This track looks adorable and fun, but it is described as having a "thrilling launcher" and other "exciting accessories". After setting this up on Chrismas Eve to surprise our son with the next morning, we were really disappointed in this toy. Neither my husband nor I (not to mention our 20-month-old son on Christmas morning) could get the car to launch with enough force to perform as indicated. The cars fell of the track repeatedly, pieces fell apart, and the track is so lightweight that if a young child tries to reach over or bumps the track, it becomes misaligned very easily.

                Got this for my 2 year old son for Christmas. He was super excited when we set up, but after 5 minutes of play pieces started falling off or getting misaligned. Literally every time he bumps it, or tries to get close to it to get the car, something else falls off or the track gets knocked out of place. He still plays with it, which is why I gave it 2 stars, but this toy is not nearly as cool as I anticipated. Btw, I have a 3 1/2 year old daughter who has no more success playing with it than my son, so even older kids may have limited success with this toy.

                Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
