I like the product- doesn't for well with the memory foam mattress, but it does the job so my 3 year doesn't fall off the bed.

This bed rail is not worth the money spent. It does not slide under the mattress as easily as the description leads you to believe. My money would have been better spent on a cheaper bed rail at a retailer.

This product gave me and my child the security needed as he transitioned from his crib to his big bed! It's sturdy and designed well. The only minor flaw is that occassionally it sticks when trying to slide the rail under the mattress. Overall I am very happy with the product and would definately recommend it to anyone transitioning their child into a regular bed.

My sister bought this same bed rail around 2005 and we received it as a hand-me-down. At one point, a peice of the plastic joint cracked and we rigged it with a cam strap. We recently moved and I figured I would buy a new one to replace the broken one. The new one (the one that is offered now at One Step Ahead) was made so much cheaper and less sturdy. I wish I hadn't known how much better made they were before. I returned it and we are using the old one still.

The product is a good product but like many of the reviews stated the assembly is a little tricky. We also had problems with the latches. They did not line up correctly so once we latched them we found it necessary to keep them latched (having to make the bed with them in place is a little difficult). The rails do stay in place. I would probably research other products before purchasing this one if I had it to do over again.

Good enough for it's price. We weren't looking for anything fancy. My husband and I installed it without needing to read the instructions. Keeps our toddler safe in bed.

I purchased both this bed rail and the additional fixed bed rail for my daughters new "big girl" full sized bed. For the time being, we are simply using her convertable crib with the wood bed rail kit -- these safety bed rails do not funtion on a bed with bed rails [vs. a bed frame and box spring]. I am able to squeeze the rail on the side but it can not fold down and the 2nd side does not fit. I do like the product and the length is perfect for her, she can get in and out easily but protected when she is sleeping. She will be moving to different furniture in the next few months with standard frame and boxspring so it will eventually be perfect!

Not explained that a box spring was needed. Also doesn't work if guard rails are already in place for bunk bed. Rep did not give good explanation on product use.

Set it up and it's on, the only thing is I can't figure out how to 'hide' the extra hide away rail. The hide away bed rail slides under easily but for some reason my extra rain doesn't want to slide under. Anyway other than that I like that I can hide it and that it slides out easy at night so he's protected.

This bed rail is great. Without it my son would fall right out of the bed. My almost 2 year old sleeps right up next to the rail and it stays in place. He has even held onto the rail and tried to raddle it, but once again it stays put.
Another thing I like about the rail is that you can place it all the way at the head of the bed, middle, or end depending on where you want it. It covers about 3/4ths of the side of the bed, so easy to get in and out of the bed for toddlers.
Going to buy another' one for my mom's house when he stays over.
