Get a little extra creative, with our chunky, funky, kids' paintbrush trio! Instead of ordinary bristles, the unique brush heads are made of yarn, leatherette strips, and fabric. They produce great special effects, encouraging kids to experiment and explore. (We also love the thick, easy-to-grasp handles.) For ages 2 and up. Imported. See Product Details

Comments about Alex Funky Brushes:
My 2 1/2 year old loves them. She has a fine motor delay and they are great.

About Me First Time Parent
Fun brushes that add a little fun and funky outlet for your little artist. Got these for my 22 month old little boy who loves to paint. We haven't used them yet, but they seem like they will be much easier for him to grasp versus a regular paint brush. Decent quality, but not quite as nice as most the products typically ordered from One Step Ahead.

Very cute and inspiring to my 2 year old son but they really did not do much or add much to his art.

About Me Education Oriented, Stay At Home Parent
I bought these funky brushes for my 2 1/2 year old daughter. They looked like they would be a lot of fun to paint with. Unfortunately, when she used them they just kind of made big blobs of paint on the paper. They are also very difficult to clean, especially the rope brush. They also absorb a lot of paint when using them. They're great for a first use, but don't seem to hold up that well. She had fun with them, but I wouldn't buy them again.

About Me Parent Of Two Or More Children
My 5 and 3 year old boys both loved playing with the brushes before even getting the paint out. My 3 year old would play with the brush tops, separating the tops with his fingers, brushing them on his face, etc. They were both fascinated with the different looks they achieved when painting on the easel. My 3 year old doesn't draw objects yet and this gave him a whole new "artistic edge". The problem I had was having paint in bowls that tipped. My 3 year old gets pretty aggressive when he's painting and the bowls sometimes get spilled and he makes a lot of splatters.

Creates a variety of fun textures and designs on paper that ordinary brushes couldn't. Art time becomes a lesson about texture as well as colors.
