Bought as a Xmas gift for 3 year old. Installed batteries but toy cash register wouldn't work. In process of sending product back - hopefully with no problems getting a new one.

Ordered this for my daughter for Christmas because her old cash register broke. I didn't want to buy the same one again since it was not the best quality. My main criteria was a scanner that she can hold in her hand (not on a "conveyor belt") that made a beeping sounds when you "scanned" something. This was difficult to come by so I settled on this register even though I wanted more of a classic type. I also thought she would enjoy the credit card pin pad.
So my first impressions are that it is a LOT smaller than I expected AND the credit card pin pad thing is a complete joke. It came with a credit card that is about 1" x 2". I normally like to let her use old store gift cards as "credit cards" and that will certainly not be possible with this register.
Unfortunately I would need to pay shipping to return this and I had a hard time finding a register with a scanner so we will be keeping it even though initially I am disappointed with it.
As far as how it functions I can update after Christmas and she has had a chance to play with it.
