This is a handy product. I don't think we had a problem with the bread getting wet, though my son is 3.5 years old so maybe I just don't know. He used this for 3-4 months, but the hinge broke when it fell as I was taking it out of kitchen drawer. We might order another.

I couldn't wait for this product to arrive! I was looking all over for the perfect size lunch container for my son. This is it.
It's made of durable plastic and holds a regular size sandwich. It contains a removable ice pack that clicks onto the bottom of the plastic, so the ice pack never touches the sandwich...and thus not making it soggy; only keeps it cold.
The only con I have is that you have to hand wash; no dishwasher.
I use it when we travel on weekends and my son uses it during the week for his lunch (it fits right into a standard size lunchbag).
I am going to buy 2 more to have on hand.

I should have read the other reviews...label on container says use a baggie to keep sandwich from getting soggy. After reading that, I promptly returned before using. I only bought this because I didn't want to use baggies and keep to food cold. It is also very large and the ice pack is separate on the outside. I'll just use a separate ice pack & the Snack Happens Reusable Bag (which I love) instead. I would give this no stars but the system wouldn't let me.

The hinge broke on the 7th use. The container is large and takes up alot of space in the lunch box. I put the sandwich in a bag and put in a cheese stick and a few slices carrots to keep them cold. There was plenty of room inside for all--but I still was using baggies for the sandwich. It did a good job of keeping the food cold, right up to it breaking. I have another of this container that looks like it's hinge will split soon so it's not just a one time flaw.

I bought this to save on using plastic bags but if you don't use a baggie your sandwich gets soggy. It is very difficult to get the cold pack off the container. It is poorly constructed and it is huge. It is absolutely useless.

                Best Uses

I bought this because I wanted a way to ensure that my son's sandwiches stayed cool in his lunch box, and as a way to cut waste from using sandwich baggies daily. The advertising online states that the sandwich stays cool without soggy bread. The fine print on packaging states that you should use a baggie to keep bread away from condensation from the cool pack. This will NOT save you baggies if you use the cool pack with it. Typically things that say hand wash I can still wash on the top rack of the dishwasher. Not this item. After one wash in the dishwasher it has become disfigured to the point where it is difficult to close. Lastly, it is HUGE! When this goes into the lunchbox, other things hardly fit. Ultimately it is difficult to close the lunch box. While this is a good idea, it needs to be a typical size for regular sandwhich bread and be made from material that will withstand use.

I bought this for my daughters lunch. The idea of the ice pack being in the sandwich keeper is great and leaves room for more items because I don't have a bulky ice pack. This maybe good for a short outing, but not for all day. My daughters lunch is packed and she's out the door at 6:30. She doesn't eat until 11:55. She said that her lunch was warm, soggy (even after wrapping) and not good. I guess it's back to the bulky ice pack.

If you are trying to be eco-friendly, do NOT buy this product! It specifically states on the sticker that this product performs best when the sandwich is put into a plastic bag inside the container (to reduce condensation). What?! If I wanted to use a plastic bag, I wouldn't have purchased this! But unfortunately my 4 yr old son saw this and thought it was really cool looking so guess what? We are keeping it. I use it without the ice pack (because we have already lost it) and without a plastic baggie and it works fine as a plain old sandwich box.
