Whether we're traveling or just going to the store, my little boy loves doing something in the car and this was just what we needed. It's just so great and so easy to use and fits great!

So great to have a "table top" when traveling. Can eat, color, read books, or set a tablet on to watch movies or play games.

Only complaint was that the buckle irritated my son's back at one point. Had to make sure the belt was appropriately adjusted every time we put the tray on.

These trays saved our 16 hour trip with twin 4 yo boys. While it isn't stiff (and for safety it shouldn't be), it is fairly sturdy and allows for the kids to hold things more easily on their lap. One of the boys used it mostly to hold his snacks, the other did color and draw with it (and on it! It wiped off clean.)
They were able to unclip themselves and simply lift the tray toward the center of the carseats. While I would not use these for everyday car rides, for trips they are a MUST. An extra bonus, they were on sale and matched our carseats (Cosco and Britax Boulevard).
The only con, and it isn't a huge problem: the pockets are hard to put things in. They are a net material, which catches things in it. Also, when you lift the tray, the items fall out. The boys didn't use them much.
I have recommended them to friends with toddlers!

This made our 7-hour drive a lot easier with our 2-year-old. The only complaint I have is that with the way her car seat is, she kind of leans back in it so the tray was resting on her knees and she couldn't reach things that were on the back of the tray. However, I'm sure that when she gets bigger it won't be a problem anymore.

I bought these right before a long car trip and they were definitely worth the money. Depending on your brand of car seat, it may be difficult to wrap the band around the back to secure in front of your child. I also had some issue with it sinking a little in the middle but I think this is due to where it folds to fit in the storage bag and it might form up better if I had gotten it out sooner before I started in the car.

My 5 yr old son loves this tray in the car. He plays with his toys, reads or colors mostly likes to use his IPAD. When its lunchtime he loves to put his food on it.

My 4-yr old used this on a two day car ride. It was perfect for coloring, etc while in the car. The only drawback was the strap to go around her. We were alone in the car so I could not clip it for her. She ended up just putting it over her head. I am not sure how effective the strap was, but she loved using the tray.

These trays are great for eating in the car or for reading/coloring. They are sturdy while still being safe during a crash, and they're easy to clean. I've had one for each child for three years. The clip broke on one and One Step Ahead is replacing it for free. That's why I'll continue to recommend and buy from this company.

I will start by saying that as a products liability litigation attorney, I get why this product is so soft...obvious safety reasons. That is about where the positives end. I'd really rather just not have the tray. Perhaps I missed it in the item description, but the tray sits on the car seat by being buckled around the child's waist. Seriously?? I have a well-behaved 2 year old and it's difficult enough getting her into the seat and getting her harness buckled without this added belt around her. The plastic buckle also digs into her. And the tray--rather than as pictured--is very flimsy. I mean REALLY flimsy (it was misshapen almost permanently from being all contorted for its packaging/shipping). My child cannot reasonably draw or eat on it. I read the reviews but should've minded the details of those reviews more carefully. I'm unhappy with this item, but will keep it simply because at it's price (you get what you pay for), it's not worth the miniscule refund after factoring in the shipping and handling both ways. I bought this for a long road trip and will take it, but this item will indeed end up in the "automobile accessory graveyard" in my garage for sure after we return from the trip. And contrary to the picture, those side flaps do not work that way. They are flimsy little pieces of nylon, akin to the fabric on a kite.

We just used this tray on a 20 hour bus trip with my almost-3-year-old son. It's perfect for driving cars across, eating dry items (snacks, chicken nuggets), and using color wonder marker sets (crayons require too much pressure that the soft construction of the tray may not support). It was really easy to fold the tray up and tuck it next to his car seat and the window of the bus so it could easily be reattached for the next use without having to feed the strap around the seat each time. I would recommend this product to anyone needing a travel tray for a child in a car seat.

It easily straps around carseat. My five year old granddaughter likes it. Time will tell if it is useful on a long cartrip - which is why I bought it.

We bought this tray to use on road trips, as we live in FL but often visit our families in Michigan and Virginia. We first bought it when our son was 2. Now he is nearly 4 and we still use it and love it. We sometimes even use it around town at home. It's great for eating and playing in the car. The rim around the sides helps contain his toys/food so that they don't easily slip away as the car moves. He finds it to be comfortable and I feel good knowing that it is crash tested. Some people don't like that it isn't rigid, but if it were, then it wouldn't be safe. We find that it is firm enough for our use and we highly recommend it.

I purchased this tray for all my toddler grandchildren. It is useful but not quite sturdy enough. When they are trying to use it, it collapses down on their laps to easily and then tilts forward. Needs to be just a bit more sturdy. I definitely would not use it for eating at all.
