This gate is simple horrible. If you would just need a gate to keep permanently in place it is fine, yet you would probably buy a different gate. This is a portable gate supposedly designed to take with you, yet the set-up is so work intense that I rather watch my children without the gate than having to deal with it. Not only the set-up, but also the take down is lengthy and if you pick up the gate on the wrong end it will extend and you have to collapse it all over again, which is again lengthy. Horrible!

I purchased this gate because I previously had a wall mounted gate that eventually got ripped off the wall, so I thought I would try a pressure mounted gate. At first I liked it because there was no hardware and installation was easy. Then I realized it was NOT easy to take down and put back up frequently so I was stepping over it all day going in and out of the main living area. Then after taking it down a couple times and putting it back up the inside of the gate (not visible) wouldnt work right, it broke. It would not hold pressure against the wall. I had to replace this gate twice!! All in less than a year! I wouldnt recommend this gate. Im going to try the retractable one.

We have non-standard size doorways and this ways the only gate that I found that doesn't require screwing parts into the walls and fits our doorways. This gate does not open (adults have to climb over it) but it's the only gate that kept my daughter out of the areas I used the gate to block. I actually purchased this gate for the second time, once my daughter figured out how to open a hallway door. LOVE THIS BABY GATE! Oh and it's portable!!!

I bought this for my daughter and her 9 mo. old. It comes in handy to move from one place to another and is working great for her and her baby. She likes the fact that it's mesh and the baby can't get his tiny fingers caught. The only negative thing she's told me about it is that she has a hard time folding it up to fit into the carrying case.

We purchased this gate to extend between a large arch in our living area. It was difficult to find something to work since floor molding wraps around the arch, where the lower part of the gate would mount. However, this gate does well. It does a great job separating the space and was fairly easy to figure out. After using it for a few months, the gears in the top tension rod "stripped" and we had to send it back for a replacement. I truly missed the gate for the few weeks we were without it. [...]

Wish you had this when we were first time parents with Twins. Had a problem finding a barrier for our 2 doorways that were 52" wide. Most gates are only good for u[p to 47" openings. Good construction, Good looking and really safe for our grand daughter. Found it easy to set up and will be easy to take with us, when needed. This will last for any years and probably be given to someone else once we no longer need it.

i purchased this gate for an extra wide doorway. it was a lifesaver. kept my baby out of the kitchen, but we could still see each other. was also easy for me to step over it, while the gate was still up. it kept her safe, and she didn't really feel like she was separated from everyone else.

This gate is great. It's versatile, being able to block off small doorways, and up to 6' wide entryways as well. It's nice that the netting is easy to see through so i can keep an eye on the baby. Lots of people complain that this is too difficult to use, it's really just a matter of reading the instructions because once i did that I had no problems whatsoever.

I bought this gate to use in an awkward space at the bottom of my stairs in the family room. One side of the gate is against the wall, the other against a very large, heavy desk.
I found setting up the gate a little tricky at first, but now I can do it in my sleep! I started using this when my baby began to crawl and now he's a running toddler who can literally hold on to the top and try to climb it, with his 25 lbs. hanging from it, and the gate stays in place! As long as you tighten the gate properly, it won't move until you loosen and move it!

This comes in a travel case, so I can take it to grandma's house. I use it at the base of our stairs. Works great! Good value too!

I first I thought that this gate was ideal, it folds down to nothing, it lightweight.. but as other commenters have mentioned, it is not so easy to manuever, and once I got it to stay, now I don't want to take it down. My toddler has not knocked it down yet, and I do say yet.. it is not for the top of a staircase but will do it's job if you are trying to keep the baby wrangled in a room. (would be great for travel, I will add)

I love this gate! When I move from where I am currently I will buy more and I will not even fuss with those tacky wooden ones. When you have to look at a gate all the time, get one that is aesthetically eye pleasing. This one works well, I've been using it for over a month in our screen room to divide it off from a storage area.
In addition, I hate to assemble things and even prefer to take floor models so I don't have to do it at home. This gate assembled in 5- 10 minutes and most of the work was opening the box.

Didn't want to have a permanent wall mount gate. This fits our needs keeping or little one from going up the stairs. This is nice because we can gate of a room to keep her in also.

This is a great gate. I have had some difficulty finding one just the way that I wanted to use where I wanted. I needed a pressure mount gate to use at the bottom of my stairs and I had ordered a different brand previously from another web site and had to send it back. I thought that I would give this one a try and it has worked great. It is very sturdy and tightens really tight.
