Works great for my 8-month-old

About Me First Time Parent
Comments about Dorel Juvenile Group Childproof SecureTech Cabinet Lock:
I use these on my kitchen cabinets, as my son has learned to pull himself up. They work well. He also uses them as teething toys so there's an added use right there! I imagine they won't hold up for a super long time, as they seem sort of flimsy, but for right now they totally do the job I need them to: keep my son out of cabinets i don't want him in!!
so far so good

About Me Parent of Two or More Children
I got this lock to keep my 3 year old out of the fridge and snack cabinet. IT DOES NOT WORK. Maybe I should say it does work, but not for a 3 year old they can quickly figure out to pinch the top and bottom together and slide it open. A lock is supposed to keep kids out. I have had other locks that were a pain, but I will go back to those. Something that takes 2 hands for an adult to open should at least give the 10 seconds I need to get to the fridge and save that dozen eggs from being thrown all over the floor. If your child wants something and can reach the lock....or even push a chair up to this lock will not help you.
took about 3 minutes for my son

My son will be three in June. He came in, took a look at the lock, fiddled with it for 3 minutes and pulled it off.
Great!

this one is very easy to use. It's easy for me to get in and out of yet the baby cannot get into the cabinet.
Perfect for us

About Me Grandparent
These are great for taking off and putting back on easily. As a grandparent, I don't want the cabinets locked all the time - just when the grandkids are here. These can be opened and left hanging on the knob for easy reuse when needed. I had bought 2 to try and then ordered more.

Peace of Mind

Any lock takes time to use. This one is as simple and effective as they get. Definitely worth the peace of mind that our little ones wil not get poisoned.
GREAT!

This product works perfectly for what is it made to do. My 18-month old is always opening her closet door and pulling everything out. This device keeps her closet door's shut and she moves onto other things.
good for now, but may not last

I bought these to latch kitchen and bathroom cupboards closed. They are working for the time being, although my 11-month old has already bent the long plastic prongs to a 90 degree angle, so I'm guessing I might get another 2 weeks out of them before they snap off if he happens to get to them again. They are not sturdy enough for my little guy.
these work really well

I love these and have bought one for every cabinet in my kitchen. They are very easy for me to get them on and off (perfect for frequently-used cabinets), but not for my daughter. They aren't the prettiest out there, but I didn't have to drill into my cabinets and we won't need these forever.
Does the job

I bought this for my pantry that my 15 month old tries to explore. It works great. He has tried to pull it and bend it and has had no success. It is very sturdy and couldn't be easier to use. Thanks!!
Doesn't Lock on our Cabinets
By Kari
from Ohio
This has a "lock" feature that shows green when it's properly installed all the way, red when not. Well, the knobs on our cabinets are either too thick or set too close to the cabinet door that the trigger that shows the green/red lock does not compress because it does not fit behind the knob and press up against the post that holds the knob. So it doesn't lock as tightly as it probably should and we just close it as far as it can. It still holds the doors closed though, which is what we need but they can still get pulled out slightly.
Hated it!!!

My 10 month old was able to take the lock off in less than 5 seconds.
