Comments about One Step Ahead Child Safe Play Yard Gate with 8 panels:

I can now safely contain my 10 month old granddaughter. I babysit 4 days a week & she was wearing me out. She now sits & plays quietly with her toys instead of charging around my house! I can finally get something done when she is here. Her parents liked it so much that they bought one last week!

Comments about One Step Ahead Child Safe Play Yard Gate with 8 panels:

Our busy lil crawler has freedom to play and we have freedom to sit and watch or cook dinner or whatever without the worry of her trying to get into something "off limits". She is perfectly content with her toys and she even enjoys her naps on a pallet now and then. Gives me freedom to do housework without her on my hip which gives the old back a break. We have one at great-grandma's house too. Big enough to get in with her and play. Highly recommended. This one is larger and less expensive than products I could find in department stores. The entire family benefits from this item.

Comments about One Step Ahead Child Safe Play Yard Gate with 8 panels:

Very happy with this purchase. I've done a lot of research and kept coming back to this product for our 11 month old. It's tall, sturdy (when sides are closed), and much bigger than I thought (which is a great thing!).

Comments about One Step Ahead Child Safe Play Yard Gate with 8 panels:

We use half of this gate to keep our daughter from getting into our son's toys as well as staying away from the fireplace. We gave the other half to my parents and they use it to keep our daughter from going down their stairs and into the bedroom wing. It is large but folds up easily. It doesn't blend in with our decor at all, but our daughter's safety is more important than the style of our family room right now.

Comments about One Step Ahead Child Safe Play Yard Gate with 8 panels:

I bought this because we have a VERY curious baby and we didn't want to babyproof the entire house. After reading reviews, I also bought the foam puzzle mat to keep the gate in place. If you don't have a way to keep the gate from moving, your child will be able to scoot it. I would recommend either tethering it to a wall or doing what I did - place the foam pieces in a big square and assembling the gate around the edges. Anyway, it has worked really well for us. Despite other reviews, the pieces do move well (there's a way to loosen and tighten them). I have moved the gate multiple times and have had no problem conforming the panels to whatever shape I need. I bought the gate when my daughter was 6 months old. She's 13 months old now and still loves her play area!

Comments about One Step Ahead Child Safe Play Yard Gate with 8 panels:

Basically this is a good product for pre-walking infants. Once the crawling and pulling up stage begins this product begins to show its problem areas. The walls move too much and unless there is an additional support system nothing stops the child from continuing to move those walls. We installed 8 one inch thick dowels, along full length of top and bottom all four sides to give extra rigidity. It has not happened yet but we are concerned about the large openings in each corner as well. Time will tell whether or not junior's hands or arms will get into those openings and get twisted somehow.
With that being said this is the best playpen we could find. So while that is not meant to be a recommendation, this playpen is better than most. We put two layers of foam squares as a floor for the playpen. That is mandatory for head protection.

I live in a small space and so wanted to be able to assemble and disassemble the playyard easily so that I could put it away when not in use. It was incredibly difficult to set up and put away. The parts did not slide smoothly and I practically threw out my back every time. I returned the item. It would be much better with a release button at the top so it could easily lock into and out of place.

We use it to contain our 8 month grandson who is very inquisitive. Could not leave the room previously but feel comfortable now if only to use the bathroom. He pulls himself up and walks around the inside of gate jibbering away happy as a lark. Toys inside gate keep him occuppied. Very happy with product!

I have 17 month old twin boys. They have been moving this gate and reshaping it even when locked in place it's not sturdy for them and the big con is they can use their little toes to climb over! that does not top off the fact that they can stick their arms between the slats while locked in place! This play area is pretty good for children who are younger under one. I do like being able to enter with out climbing over. The design was a good concept but needs better planning in my opinion...

I use this product to hold the twins in one play area. It is a good thing for that. However you have to make certain each area is locked VERY tight and the cons are the baby's can shove it and just move it to where they want to go. Another Con is between the slats a baby's arm CAN fit and get stuck I have had to deal with this more than once it is a very scary thing to happen. aside from anything else for One baby it's perfect to be in there and for two it's just ok...

Love the flexible ablilty to design the gate for blocking off any area of need to limit grandchildren's access.

Somewhat awkward for handling. It would be nice to downsize the width and then add a gate instead for easier handling.
The weight seems adequate for stamina purposes.
