I tried this thermometer on my children (6-year-old twins). I found that it works better if you hold it still, rather than following the directions and moving it gently across the forehead. Actual results were kind of "hit and miss" and we had to try a couple of times to get accurate results.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
