      This extension does not fit well with the auto close gate. The two ends that are supposed to connect do not seem as though they fit together at all. When the two pieces are put together, the connection point kinks when tension is increased. Add a toddler who will pull and hang on the gate and this is not a long term solution for a sturdy barrier. You are better off buying the single bar extensions. They work much better.

      Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
