Comments about One Step Ahead 4-in-1 Land & Water Baby Carrier:

I bought this a couple summers ago for a week stay at the beach with an infant. No wonder the carrier comes with a DVD because it was very difficult to get the baby in and secure. It was so uncomfortable and I found myself holding the baby with one hand anyway while he was in the carrier to give him more support. After one use, we decided it was easier and more comfortable for the baby and myself to just hold him and leave the carrier alone.

Comments about One Step Ahead 4-in-1 Land & Water Baby Carrier:

I thought I would use this, but it just isn't that practical. I've had it all summer for my 3 - 6 month old and only used it once for 5 minutes. It's just not comfortable and apparently she didn't like it. I feel like if she leans forward she would fall out, so I still have to use one hand to hold her in. I love carrying my baby in slings but this one just didn't feel right or good. I prefer the Ergo baby!! Too bad it's not made for the water, but I would use it in the water and then just let it dry instead of this one.

Comments about One Step Ahead 4-in-1 Land & Water Baby Carrier:

Was really looking foward to having my 6 month old in the carrier so my 3 1/2 year old could get one if not two of my hands to play in the pool. Not going to happen because this carrier is so uncomfortable and does not have enough straps or wraps in good locations to distribute my baby's weight. My neck was killing me after trying it for a day, and my 6 month old is only 12 lbs...how would I feel by the end of the summer after she's put on some more pounds?

Comments about One Step Ahead 4-in-1 Land & Water Baby Carrier:

I am a very experienced baby-wearer and nursing mom of 2 boys. I've owned and used almost every sling/carrier on the market and this is by far the worst I've ever purchased. It's very difficult to get into and even harder to place baby properly. Once on, it's very uncomfortable and my 9 month old (22lbs) almost fell out of it. He was uncomfortable and squirming to get out. The front panel doesn't come up nearly high enough to keep baby safe and close to parent and the seat is much too wide, baby's legs are splayed like a frog. I had high hopes for this carrier and very much looked forward to using it to keep my infant safe while I chased my 3yr old around the pool, however it's already on it's way back to the company. I'll be using my Ergo or Scootababy hip carrier instead, both are far superior in comfort and safety for both mom and baby, and WAY easier to get on and off. Very disappointed with this product. However, this is the first time I've been unhappy with a onestepahead product and I will continue to purchase from this site.

Comments about One Step Ahead 4-in-1 Land & Water Baby Carrier:

Even if I was just looking for a hip carrier this product would be worth it. It is priced the best and it has other uses too! I was looking for a hip carrier as my 5 month old is very big and out grew his front and back carrier. I saw this one and thought it looked good. we were planning a vacation, and I wanted to use it in the water too. This carrier worked great. I carried my son on my hip for a walk when he started to get tired I flipped him around to face me and pulled it in more to the center. He fell right to sleep, and he slept good too. I was comfortable and so was he. The strap has a nice cushioned part, so it didn't dig into me. I am a nursing mom and it was just so easy to move him around in it. Later that day we went to a diner and they had no highchairs left, no problem for me I strapped him to the chair using the color coded straps. He was happy to play with his toys between his legs, on the chair. The anti slip kept him in place and it was much more sanitary. We went to the beach and I took my son in the carrier into the ocean he loved the water hitting his feet and I didn't have to worry about getting knocked down and dropping him. We also went to the pool. The Carrier worked perfectly. One thing I would like to note is I left it out to dry on the balcony at night but because of the extra padding and cooler weather, it didn't dry well. So I just threw it in the dryer. I had read that the part where his legs go through was a little wide but my son was fine with it. I think it would be a problem if I had a smaller baby. Although My daughter who is the same weight as my son used it when we went on another walk and my son was in the stroller asleep. She is two and it didn't bother her either. It was a great help to carry her on my hip and still have two free arms and hands. My three year old even had to try it out. I really liked this carrier it was well worth it. The price was lower then if I would have gotten just a hip carrier and I used it for much more. It is a great product! I would like to note that I haven't used it in the cart. Also this would make a great gift for any mom. A very great gift for a mom with more then one. I am just so pleased that I found it!

Comments about One Step Ahead 4-in-1 Land & Water Baby Carrier:

This by far the best carrier I used with my kids, but it was terribly hard to find over the last five years. I am 5'3" and found front packs to be uncomfortable after they grew a bit - it was hard to sit, bend down, or walk without their legs getting in the way. The model I had was even simpler then this one, but this one is very close. It is much cooler and easier to use then a sling, and carries everything a nursing mama needs (a diaper, soft small pack of wipes, phone, keys) on the go... a little cardigan or jacket and a hat topped it off perfectly. If you use a bottle, then you will still need a diaper bag because there is no room for a bottle. As they got bigger, I kept the carrier for trips through airports or museums... much easier to carry a child this way when they run out of gas. Such a beautiful thing to have when you have a toddler and a baby at the same time. I liked this much better then a double stroller, too, for my kids that were 2+ years a part in age. Terrific for the playground, sailing and the beach.

Works really well in pool with my 4 month old. Allows me the use of both arms and hands for my 3 year old. Comfortable, however I will say it took a little while to figure out what snaps go where once the carrier is on and child is in it. Practice a few time before first use.

I got this for use with my 7 month old in the pool. It is great. He does not mind it at all but I think that the part that goes between his legs is too wide. It does soak up some water but dries fairly quickly. The baby seams to lean forward in it unless I put my hand in front of him.
