Comments about One Step Ahead 4-piece Wood-grain Foam Play Mat Edges Espresso:
Wonderfully constructed mats and accessories. Wood grain is realistic and blends well with our hardwood flooring.
Great

These are also a bit pricy but give a great finished look to the foam matting.
Useful pieces to complete mat.

About Me Grandparent
If you want your mat to have finished edges, then these pieces are necessary. They are the same good quality as the mat pieces.
Great finishing touch

Makes that nice final touch to the piece. My clild's in-home school teacher loves it. But note, the mat does scratch easy. Extra care is needed to match wet cloth slightly with water and wipe down. No chemical, no broom or vac.

Big Gaps
By teach17
from Saskatchewan , Canada
I ordered the main 26 piece set and the edges are inconsistant with it. There are big gaps between the edge pieces, it appears that they were made not wide enough. I was very dissapointed as they are double the price of the colorful ones and I expected them to match up well. I kept them because I do not want my kindergarten class destroying the puzzle piece edging and really cannot afford to be without them. I do need another set to finish off the edges, and I hope they fit better than the last ones I ordered :(

Not so great!!!
By Tmartz B.

Its a very poor design. It keeps coming off the top glossy coat... It's not good for the baby. I will return it!!!
Pricey
By Cathy K

These are a nice to have, but I found them too pricey to finish off our entire playroom. Also, my toddler son removes them rather easily. I removed them and find that I don't notice or mind the puzzle edges.

Finishes the floormat beautifully!
By Busy Mom of two

Wave in the boarder is cute. Finishes the ends of the floor mat nicely. Wood grain doesn't match up to the grain in the floor mat, but it you would need to be close up to notice it.
Poor fitting edges
By egotart
from Philadelphia, Pa.
The edges were ordered to finish off a mat of the same material. Although they fit the mat they do not fit well and are not level with the main areas. There are many gaps between the mat and the edges and the corners which I also ordered. The cushioning is good but the whole thing dents and tears much too easily.

Not as Good at the Mat
By Happy Mom
from Ohio
I have the play mat, and I love it. The edge and corner pieces, on the other hand, do not look nearly as nice because they do not fit together well like the rest of the mat does. It has large gaps between all the pieces. We only kept it because we would have had to pay to ship it back, and the edge pieces at least keep our baby from getting caught on the edge of the mat. The mat by itself is totally worth the money, the edge and corner pieces are not.
Definitely necessary to a complete look
By NYRN

These edges make the mat look complete. It is difficult to figure out how many you will need if you set up your pieces in an unusual shape.
Doesn't quite fit together
By btami
from Bellflower, CA
I like this mat because it is extra thick and I don't have to worry about my little 7 month old hitting her head. Although, the pieces don't fit well together. Our ABC mat pieces fits so much better. The seams are more noticeable than I would like. It is nice to have our living room not look like a playground, but its a toss up over which is better; playground or large seams.
Looks nice but doesn't fit well

I love the finished look these give the mat set but some do not fit well and you have to order quite a few to get a finished look all around.
Natural edges for foam mat
By Lauren K
from Los Angeles, CA
I added these to a 10-piece set that I bought for our kitchen. Without the edges, I just felt that tripping was more of a hazard and things kept getting caught in the puzzle-like edges of the mat (like the pedal for our trash can, for example). The edges fit really well and make the whole mat look more complete. I like them better than the alphabet mat edges- for some reason, those don't fit as well together. The wood looking ones fit well and tightly, and look finished.
