The drawers on cubby organizer do not slide in or out easily (even for adults!), as there is little to no support around the walls. They are not kid-friendly at all, in terms of opening and closing the drawers. I wound up having to buy thin particle board and lining all the inside walls, so that the drawers could properly slide in and out. Even then, sometimes there is that suction feeling when you're trying to open the drawers.
From the picture, you can see how any weight on top of the shelf will "squish" it, making the drawers even more impossible to open and close. The storage idea is awesome. The design is deeply flawed, and one of our least satisfied purchases for storage.

I was really excited to find such a great solution for our living room which is my 13 mth old's space and therefore always a disaster area! :) I purchased the 4 drawer organizer and the personalized toy box even though many people on here said not to get the 4 drawer organizer-I bought it anyways as it seemed a good value at the time. I am EXTREMLY DISAPPOINTED that I wasted $ on this set- I have had it for less than 1 month and already all of the liner in the 4-drawer set has come unstitched from the canvas and is shredding (great for a baby to put in their mouth right?!) Of course the drawers are totally hard to open as everyone has mentioned. ON TOP OF THIS.... I do like the construction of the toybox so far except I chose to have it PERSONALIZED with my son's name and its Crooked!!!!!! (I cannot believe that no one checked this before sending it out!) It looks embroidered online (like they do at other children stores) But this is like a cheap sticker transfer. NOT PLEASED. I do not have the energy to deal with returning all of this and dealing with sending it back. I am after all extremly busy with a 1 year old- so please learn from my mistake!

Ordered this along with the large toy box(which I LOVE) it holds a lot but it is way to hard to open. We have it on a hardwood floor so when you try to open the drawer the whole thing comes with you! You have to hold it in place and basically yank it open. Not good for a small child at all!

This is great for storing small toys. My children have lots of them and I am surprised at how much I can actually fit into each bin. It's nice to use to rotate the toys they play with - a different bin per day. The drawers are a bit difficult to open which, for me is nice because my daughter would have them all open and toys everywhere if they weren't so difficult for her to open.

As far as sturdy goes, my daughter likes to dump the toys out and sit in the bins. She is pretty rough with them and they have stood up to her rough play.

Great storage solution for my family.

I got this and the toy box for our living room because I was sick of seeing toys everywhere. I like the toybox, but ended up sending the cubby box back. It assembled easily, but when assembled, the drawers are very difficult to open for an adult, much less my young children. You have to put a hand on the whole unit and pull. Then, when putting it back in the box to return, the fabric ripped! I like most things from One Step Ahead, but this one just wasn't very functional or of good quality.

Great way to store small items like dinosaurs, animals and cars that are used on a daily basis but still keep your home not looking like a toy store!

the pictures online are very misleading. as you can see from the other reviews other people made the exact mistake i did. no one really pays attention to the actual measurements. in the picture the cubbys look much bigger. each individual cubby online looks like the size of the whole unit i got. i was extremely surprised.

The drawers are flimsy and difficult to slid in and out. Similar storage drawers usually have a bottom piece to keep the drawer square, this does not. Unless the drawer is completely full (with items like clothing) it will not slide back in without collapsing.

I love this collection, but found that the drawer are much smaller than they appear on line. I returned this and purchased another toy chest in the collection

This has really helped me to organize my 17 month old toys. He loves hot wheels cars and we have a ton of them. Putting all his smaller toys in this storage box is a life saver!

This is a great product! Just keeps our small house and small play area (aka corner of dining room) nice and neat. Love it!

I really like the way it looks with the toybox in my children's nook of our living room. The only thing I would change is how difficult it is to open and close the drawers without the whole unit moving. It's great for little objects such as puzzles, train stuff, and what not. I recommend it because it serves it's purpose for storage and it looks absolutely adorable next to the toybox. I think if you choose this item, get the toybox for the larger items.

Not what we expected. Does not fit together and stay together for kid use. Draws don't slide in and out to access toys.
