    Overall I am happy with the gates. We have a 10 month old and 22 month old. We purchased two- one regular length and one with the 31" extension to close off our deck (we live on a bluff) The regular gate we were able to tighten down well enough that our almost 2 year old cannot open, but with the long extension it is a bit flimsy and he was able to open it within a day. We just used zip ties to "permanently" close the gate to solve the problem and we just step over them. Our 5 year old can crawl over them easily too.
