Not happy and neither is my son

Comments about Red Box 20-piece Shuttle Playset With Carry Case:
I usually love OneStepAhead products but this product was a huge disappointment! My 4 year old son loves space shuttles/rocket ships, and asked Santa for one for Christmas. My husband and I were excited to find this set as it includes many fun toys. Upon our sons's first time playing with this set on Christmas morning, however, we were all very upset as the piece that holds the trailer to the truck broke off, a wheel from the launch pad broke off, the doors on the space shuttle would not stay shut and broke off, and the space shuttle would not hook on to the rocket boosters. My son had to hold the space shuttle and rocket boosters together just to play 'take off'. My son was very frustrated with his toy from santa. We are not pleased.
breaks easily

Looks great but breaks very easily. My 2.5 year old had the shuttle doors broke off within 5 minutes. Also, the shuttle falls off easily from the fuel tank. This set would be good for an older child to set up as a model but if you want to play with it I do not recommend.
Not pleased

We were very disappointed in this product. We had read reviews where others had problems, but tried this product anyway. Our son really wanted a space shuttle, and this appeared to be the best out there. The door on the space shuttle broke off in the first day of play. The trailer then did not fit on the truck, and when we tried, it also broke. The shuttle also does not attach to the boosters, so you have to hold it on to pretend to launch it. While there are not many play shuttles on the market, this one is very poorly constructed. Most products from this company are good, but this one is not.

My son is 5 1/2 and generally gentle with his toys. Hewas so excited to open this on Christmas. It looks great, but the one top door of the space shuttle already broke off, and the pin that holds the trailer on the truck broke off. I am hunting for another space shuttle that is better constructed. I love One Step Ahead, but this is not one of their better products in regards to durability.
Grandson loved it!

I was told that this was a great hit. I know when he recieved it he was thrilled. He still continues to take it out everyday and keeps it in its very nice carry case on his dresser away from younger two year old sister. Sure sign he values it!

Favortie Holiday gift for my 4 yr old, the notch that holds the truck to it's flatbed broke day one and glue has not worked. The doors on the space shuttle broke day two - we were so far successful glueing them togather. MOst of the smaller pieces ie sign for Cape Canaveral and hubble telescope have also broken. We love the metal pieces and wish the ship was sold construction

Would NOT RECOMEND

This product looks great on the computer. I was very disapointed when it arrived some of the pieces were not in the carry case, there wasn't a direction sheet or at least a picture included and it sounded cheaply made before I opened the box. The only reason I am keeping this item is because the truck, trailer and planes are durable. The carrying case is also a plus.
Very Disappointed

I read the previous reviews before I bought this, and was hoping that we would have the good experiences described. Sadly this was not the case. I should have heeded the warnings. Santa brought this for my 4-yr-old son yesterday. One piece of the lauch pad arrived broken (I hadn't opened the case until late Christmas Eve). A wheel of the space shuttle broke today. He is so sad, and is begging me to call Santa to bring him another one. The truck is the only substantial piece to this toy. I was so looking forward to giving it to him as he loves the space shuttle, but this was definitely the wrong choice of toy.
Nice toy

My four year old son enjoys this toy quite a bit. It comes with a great carrying case too. Good buy!

Overall a bit of a let down. Just think they threw too many little junky extras that will probably get thrown away at my house. Love that it comes in it's own case.
Space shuttler was a large step above

My son found this in our Christmas toy magazines. So we talked to Santa and Santa delivered on Christmas morning. My son was delighted. After all the many toys he received for Christmas this is one of the higher quality toys. Perfect for toddler age and up. We love this becuase it's not they typical toys you find at all the department stores. Truck is sturdy, and durable, base of rocket ship isn't as well put together. Not bad considering our other toy choices. My son loves it and we'll continue to enjoy "blastoff" for many months to years to come.
Disappointingly junky

My 3.5-year-old son picked this out for Christmas and was thrilled to receive it--until he started to play with it and multiple pieces broke. The materials used are cheap and the quality is poor. Very disappointing!
SOn likes, but lots of plastic
By Kelley

My son does love this, but there are more plastic pieces, and less die-cast then I thought for [$]. The shuttle and truck are well-made, but the launch pad does not attach to the shuttle easily without falling apart. It frustrates my young son. He enjoys the truck that carries the shuttle and the shuttle with rocket boosters immensely though. I just wish the lauch pad was a little more sturdy and it would be a much better product. We are still glad we bought it, though
