I would only recommend this for newborns/infants up to 10 pounds. After that it becomes uncomfortable and tilts forward.

I used a baby bjorn with my almost 9 year old and for my 3 year old, as well. But this time around, it's killing my shoulders. So I ordered this one with the lumbar support and it definitely eases the burden on your shoulders. I am short, however, and I find that the straps over my shoulders are too big and I have tried to tighten every possible strap, but it doesn't quite do the trick. I think it is because the lumbar support sits above the tush area and can't really be pulled down. (unless you have a flat tush, I suppose! LOL) Anyway, I still use it all the time, in between my uses of the other slings I have. It definitely helps to have this and my daughter (now 3 months) loves to fall asleep either face forward or on my chest. If you are breastfeeding, this carrier is not as easy to nurse in than other slings or even the older version of the bjorn that can hang on you lower. This bjorn sits up much higher than my old one...probably because that is the correct way to have it and not hurt your back. Again, I am short and who knows if that affects the way it sits on me. Regarding its construction, the old bjorn without the lumbar support was much easier to fold up. This is a bulkier bjorn that is not easy to store anywhere. Doesn't fit in your diaper bag (unless you have NOTHING in your bag!) and doesn't wrap up or fold nicely. So, it winds up just getting thrown in my car which I don't necessarily like. I throw it on the bottom of my stroller whenever I go somewhere, but it definitely takes up a lot of space. Still worth it, but important to know all the info before purchasing. Lastly, i don't understand why in the world they would make the closures at the top with hard plastic. Unlike the old ones that either snapped or had a button loop closure, this one has a hard heavy plastic piece that snaps on the harness. It is easy to do and I love the way it works, but my baby winds up laying her head to one side and it's on her face or head!!! It is so ridiculous that it's not made out of soft material or covered with material. I have had to move her countless times to prevent her having an indentation on her poor little head! This is probably the biggest drawback over all. So, though I love using a baby bjorn,there are definitely things to consider before purchasing. I would try one on in the store before ordering it. Or better yet, borrow a friend's bjorn to try on before ordering your own. Just make sure it's the same one so you can see what you are going to have to deal with.

I tried numerous others but found this one and reallly like that it it lighter, easier to manage and my son loves to be in it. Great product, I have washed it and the construction is good.

This carrier is SO comfortable. I'm 5 feet tall with a 26 inch waistline, so it was difficult for me to find a carrier that fit right and that would support my back and shoulders when I carry around my 15 pound boy. I've tried others, and they really hurt my shoulders. I could walk 2-3 miles with my Baby Bjorn Active and the lumbar support was great.

These carriers a breathable and hold the childs weight in the center of your body. It is well made and my daughter is very comfortable in it. She loves to face forward! Well worth the money!

Of any item that we received, this item was the most useful. My husband and I both carried our daughter in this constantly. We used it for the grocery store, walking, around the house, in the yard, at parties, etc. We began using it when she was about a little less than a month and used it until she was about nine or ten months. This particular one with the back support is the BEST. I am small framed and was able to comfortably carry her around without my back hurting at all. I highly recommend THIS particular Bjorn.

My husban and I Western Square Dance and hike. I am short and a little heavy.
I wore this carrier all the time, dancing, hiking and shopping. I love the carrier and so did my son. He used this carrier until he was 15 mths old. Its a little pricy but well worth the money. Its even easy to feed the baby bottle or breast while in this carries and very easy to remove the baby when sleeping without waking him up.
