This sled is perfect for my 12month old. Your child must have good balance and head control to sit up in here. But she should also be able to use this as a 2 or even 3 year old, I'm hoping. I did have my husband stain it after reading some of the reviews. But our sled was well sanded when we recieved it, we just stained and sealed it to make it last for years in the wet snow. I'm sure my daughter will want to pass it down someday! It was well put together, but my husband did need to repaint one of the metal pieces, the red paint had chipped off in shipping in a spot. It's been too cold to really try it in the snow...so I can't wait for it to get back above zero in Wisconsin!

This sled is so cute, but the finish work on the wood is not that great. The wood is not smoothly finished, so you definitely need to put something over it. I also got the pad that goes with the sleigh and it's adorable and a perfect fit. My daughter and I both love the sleigh and I would recommend this item.

This sleigh is very very cute and after reading other reviews thought it would be perfect for our babies first Cleveland winter. [...] It looked adorable under the tree filled with stuffed animals on Christmas morning but for real life use it isn't strong enough to withstand the weight of a small child climbing into and out of it.

Cute item. Upon close inspection sled needed to be sanded and then a finish applied. Overall well-constructed. Manufacturer should make a more finished product and apply a sealer to protect the wood. This would increase its attractiveness to the consumer. Purchased personalized padding to go with it, which I would recommend. Overall it turned out great and my grandson will enjoy it for a couple of years.

This sleigh is actually better & cuter than pictured. Infant needs to be able to sit up on their own.
I misread the catalog when ordering the blanket & cushion and double ordered those items. So, I have returned one set. I did get one personalized and it is perfectly done. I am very happy with my order.

At this price I expected the wood finish to be of a higher quality. We will sand and seal the wood and then it will be absolutely perfect. The cushion and monogramming is what really makes this sled so eye catching and the quality of the cushion is excellent. I'm pleased with the size, I was worried it might be too small but our grandson will probably get 3 fun winters of sledding in before he outgrows it. Very cute!

I love the KinderSleigh design and the "roughing out" of the idea. However, when it came out of the box, I was immediately disappointed. I was not prepared for the fact that this piece was going to be raw, unfinished (not sealed and barely sanded) wood. I am a little skilled in the refinishing of raw wood products and am glad that I have time before Christmas to get the job done. I think I should have been warned that the wood of the KinderSleigh would need finishing if it would the "heirloom" piece mentioned in the ad. Still, it is so "cute" I won't send it back. I am glad I have the skills necessary to improve on it and make it into the heirloom I had imagined. It will now have the grandfather's mark on it too.

I wondered if this would be worth the money & I'm happy to say that it is. Very good construction-durable & safe without being heavy & bulky. My 18 month old, 33 inch tall toddler does fit in it quite well. You can get at least 2 seasons from this if you are buying for an infant/toddler and it can definitely be used for more than one child or saved as an heirloom.
