I buy a lot of products from One Step Ahead and I am very pleased with all their products. This Deluxe Travel N Trundle bed was the one and only product I have gotten from them that I can't say the same thing. It is very poorly made and really not a product that I see One Step Ahead selling. The sides don't stay up and the mattress is paper thin.

Although this is a good option for sleeping arrangements for a child not used to a regular bed, I found the sides to be inadequate. It says right on the description the borders are not intended to prevent from falling out, but when we set the bed up it became very obvious the borders were useless. We have an average size 2 year old boy who just rolled all over it. I would give it an "average" as it is easy to store, set up, and travel with/lightweight but not incredibly practical if your child actually moves during sleep.

Other reviews mention that the sides were flimsy and their child rolled out onto the floor. SInce my son moves around while he sleeps, I found that by making the velcro flaps really tight on the corners, it created a stronger side wall. This had kept him in the bed. He usues it for napping at daycare and loves it. It is bulkier than expected when rolled and in it's bag.

It is about the size of a sleeping bag. So it is pretty easy to store and lightweight so that you can carry it. Easy to set up and just the right size for toddlers. So far so good.

I bought this for use at Grammy's house and for vacation travel. I was very disappointed with the bulk of the bag and bed - not compact enough for airline travel. Putting aside the inconvenience of using this product for airline travel, I used this bed for overnights at Grammy's and found the bed to be poorly constructed. The picture shows sides, which I thought would assist in containing my 3 year old from rolling off the bed - no chance. The sides are virtually useless as they barely stay upright. The mattress itself is very thin -- I would stick with a sleeping bag next time - less bulky and just as much cushion.

Took two on vacation for our 2 year old twins to sleep on in the condo instead of two pack-n-plays. They were easy to fold into the carrying case, light weight and compact. However, the sides are so floppy (which is why they are so easy to pack and compact) that my son rolled right over the edge and all over the floor. In his case it would have been just as easy to take a sleeping bag.

Good enough to keep as an extra cot for overnighters or weekend getaways but i feel too flimsy and the cot is too thin to have your child sleep on for a week or more consecutive nights. i am keeping it as a back-up and for short trips when i don't want to spend the time inflating and deflating the air mattress.

We have used this bed for each of our three children and it's been invaluable. We keep it in the closet and anytime one of the kids gets sick (perfect for stomach bugs) they get to use the "sick bed" in our bedroom. If he/she doesn't make it out of bed in time, we simply wipe it down and give them a new blanket - it beats changing sheets multiple times a night by a mile. We didn't buy this product for this purpose and I don't know that I would buy it as a travel bed, but it is the perfect way to keep a sick child close by but still separate!

When my 4 year old granddaughter and I set up the bed for the first time, her small finger punctured the plastic lining on the outside border of the bed! Now how well made is that?

There are some very good things and some not-so-good things about this bed. First, it is very light and can squish smaller for travel. The size is perfect for a 2-5 year old. The sheet is cute polka-dot pattern. It is very easy to set-up and pack away. We use it for traveling to grandparents house, friends houses and for vacation for our 2 1/2 year old for both naps and night-time. Some of the cons though - the mattress is really noisy. The vinyl on it is not very soft and makes crunchy noises whenever he moves. Also, the first times I went to use it, the sheet was falling apart at the sides, but I will say that customer service took care of it right away (which is why I love One Step Ahead). The other problem with it is that the sides don't stay up very well. My two year old either rolled over it or it just plain fell over while at my parents house - he ended rolling about 2 feet away from the bed before waking up on the hardwood floor. It sort of defeats the purpose of having a bed with a side if it does nothing to help them stay in it. I've decided the sides are more for looks and show rather than for actual functionality.

Overall - my experience with this bed has been luke-warm. The price seemed good (especially when compared to the air matress ones) and it is a good size, but it does have some design flaws that really need to be addressed. I'm keeping it only because I can't afford anything different (like the air mattress), but I will be trying to figure out a way to keep the sides from collapsing again.

My husband and I are big boats and need to have a place for our infant children to sleep. We have several children ages ranging from 8 years to 6 months. Anyway, with each child while they were infants we bought different types of beds for them to sleep in. For our second child we bought this bed and it fit perfectly on the floor of our boat. (Boat beds tend to be high off the ground so didn't want him to be in one of the beds yet). Anyway, it was easy to put together every night and rolled up easily every morning. The only downfall is that it is a little bulky to store in the closets or anywhere.

Due some leakage problem onto the bed itself we had to get rid of it. So when our third baby came someone else bought us a different bed as a gift. This bed was in my mind unsafe, difficult to assemble and just all together not a good bed. We just had our fourth child and I am definately buying another one of these beds for our daughter to sleep on in our boat.

This is a great bed for weekend trips and trips to people houses where they do not have safe beds for infants (roller and crawlers) to sleep on. I highly suggest this bed. You can buy just reagular fitted sheets for baby beds and they will work just fine. I did put a thick blanket underneath of it for added comfort but probably not neccessary.
