No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I thought this toy would be fun and something my 2 1/2 yr old could play with by herself. It's made of wood and the parts are so tight-fitting that you have to push really hard with both hands to make the puppet move. My daughter couldn't use it at all. If it was plastic and lighter weight it might be easier to use and then you could make the puppet move faster but it was pretty plain and boring.

bought this as a stocking stuffer for my 2 year old daughter. I remembered these as a child and loved them. They are much bigger (about size of my hand) and perfect for little hands. Quality (wood and tough string) is better than the old plastic ones. great product
