Comments about One Step Ahead Stay-Put Fleece Hat:
This hat is ridiculously small. I can barely put it on my 16 month old (ordered 12-24 months) and he has a small head! [...] I won't be doing business with this company in the future.
This hat is great for getting outside when it's cold. It fits snugly, so there is no worry of the ears being exposed. It fits great and stays put, unlike my home-made fleece hats. They don't generate static and are comfortable to wear. (No complaints from my peanut gallery!)It's quite warm, but not to the point that they sweat. This is a great hat for travel, too -- it folds up really small, and doesn't wrinkle. The sizing is right-on, if you go by the measurements. My children are 5 & 3, all three of whom have 19 1/2-20" head circumferences. I purchased size MD (24 mos.- 4T) and they fit great!
I followed the posted sizing information and the hat I received was still *ridiculously* small. Since I ordered, it looks like One Step Ahead has measured the hats and updated the sizing information. I'm going to try and exchange because I like the hat's design, with the brim and neck covering.
This is a great hat that indeed stays put and most importantly covers and protects the ears in wind and cold weather. I have not been able to find one like it and will continue to purchase them as my twins get older. They do however run small and I had to return the suggested size for my twins age and reorder the next size up.
I bought this as my daughter's one and only winter hat. We bought this same hat last year and it seems like it runs small this year. I measured my daughter's head and bought the Medium according to her measurements, and the hat STILL ran small (it barely fit her). The hat is lightweight, yet still made of quality materials. It's just a shame that Medium is the largest size and that my barely 2 yr. old does not fit it (supposed to fit up to size 4T)!
This hat doesn't fall off or get in my toddler's eyes. It keeps his neck and chin warm, either alone or on very cold days under a hood. Its the second hat of this kind I've purchased--he outgrew the first and I loved it so much on him as a baby that I bought the next size up. For bitter cold days this hat won't be enough by itself, but on very cold days I tend not to let him play outside anyway, so the relatively lightweight fleece works well. Washes easily (saliva gets on the strap sometimes)
Chicago is very cold and windy, so this stay put hat is perfect for windy days. This hat will help limit cold air in the back of the head and neck :)
Very soft, does not seem to bother or bug our baby (i.e., he doesn't try to pull it off). It covers his ears well and keeps him warm in the windy weather here in Wyoming.
I ordered this hat without reading the reviews, the hat runs small and I don't want to keep exchanging the sizes. I am going to go with another hat. The fit was off and I didn't love the way it looked.
This hat was really cute, but I ordered 24 months for my 14 month old son & it was very tight. It just fit & probably won't get me through the whole winter. Definately a good buy, but order at least 1 size bigger.
Well my little boy likes it and it keeps his little head WARM!
This hat is soooo cute. It fits real well but more importantly it covers her ears and she can't pull it off. The only problem I have with it is that I can't hook it under her chin real well yet just cause she is too small. I'm sure it will work great once she gets a little bigger.
I thought the small size might actually be too big for my 15 month old, but it fits perfect. Very cute one, keeps her whole head covered. She doesn't pull on it. Love this hat and will buy it again next year in the next size.
Very cozy hat, stays on. My son generally pulls off his hats in about one minute, but lets me keep this one on. He seems to like the soft material, and feels warm as it completely covers his ears and most of his neck. It is ideal for stroller walks, windy days, and even chillier days. I first got him one when he was about a year old, and he liked it so much (as did I) that we got it for him again after he turned two and a half.
i agree with all the other comments, this hat is terribly undersized. i went by the sizing measurements to order the hat for my 3 mo son, and it was way too small for him. had to go the next size up which was perfect.
