The package came with no instructions, and the instructions I found online were pretty sketchy. The manufacturer had posted some videos online, but you had to watch several to understand the whole procedure.

Also, I found it difficult to position my newborn so that her chin was _not_ on her chest, as the instructions specified. I returned the item.

I loved "front carriers" when my baby was younger, but my 10 mo old had yet reached the weight limit suggested but too heavy to carry & too long for his carseat carrier. I was looking for an easy way to carry him and still be able to have one hand free. I read lots of reviews and was overwhelmed about the number of sling styles available. I needed something for a quick errand without dragging the stroller out of the car. I purchased this 2 weeks before a week-long family vacation to get my child used to it. He fell asleep in it the second time I used it. (This a child who would not sleep in your arms, but only in his crib prior to this). We used it to hike, sightsee, shop, etc. When he wanted out of his stroller, he was in the sling. I feel he has bonded with me more since using it as now he's a cuddler where he was not before. The fabric is quality and did not show food or dirt. It has a padded area where his legs exit which are more comfortable then a competitor brand I used and did not like. I only used this sling with my child sitting up, the other sling I had was used in a swaddled position and I felt he couldn't get fresh air and was too cramped. This may be different if you use it right home from the hospital where they are used to being swaddled, but from a couple months out, swaddled didn't work. This sling has more then paid for itself. I now use it daily for errands and while in it he rarely tries to lean to get out and he has been crawling since purchased. My only wish is that it had a loop or two to link toys. It has one small pocket on the exterior, which lies across the childs back with a little plastic D-ring, but it's not useful. I now know that the fit is important; the first one I had was also larger. I first purchased this brand in a larger size thinking that my spouse and I could both use it, but it is pretty much impossible unless you are the same size. I was between M and L, but M was best. Too large and the child will slide around and feel insecure. I wish I had purchased this when he had good neck control, as he doesn't need to sit alone to use it in the "sitting" position. Online video sites have selections on set up and child positioning for this brand.
