We absolutely love this product. However, we had one that just stopped working after two months. One step ahead replaced it without any difficulty but now the second one is broken after two months. My son LOVES it. But it has be very unreliable.

I've only had this product for a few weeks so far, so I can't comment about other reviews that have said it broke after only a week or two. So far so good, though, and it is a wonderful product design. It really helps reassure my two year old daughter who is afraid of the dark. Easy to use, just bright enough, but not too bright...the portability is amazing.

I bought this for my almost 3-year old daughter at the beginning of September. We've had it for about 3 weeks. It has simply been sitting on her nightstand. We charge it during the day and use it at nap time and over night. Tonight when I went to turn it on, it would not turn on. It was working just fine at the end of her nap today, and she was not in the room between nap and bed-time. The charger shows that it is fully charged. My daughter was heartbroken and it took 2 hours to get her to go to sleep without her "special" nightlight. She asked me to "use glue to fix it" and I had to explain to her that there was nothing broken to fix and mommy didn't know why it wasn't working. What a waste of money. I am very disappointed.

Great product idea but wouldn't work within the first two weeks of use. No way to fix. Look at all of the other reviews that say the same thing. Wish I had!

I bought this night light for a 1 week-long cruise. It is very portable, kids love the beautiful colors and is easy to use... too easy! it took a 4yo and a 20mo a few minutes to figure out how to change the color modes and they got a blast by constantly pushing the switch. Obviously, the light burnt out in a week. They had lots of fun with it and my 20mo learnt to name the colors, but there are cheaper ways for both, right?

I ordered 2 of these as I have 2 boys. I noticed that they were each made a little differently and came in different packaging (but same makers). One works great and my son needs to have it every night. [...]The 3rd ome, so far so good but then again, he does not use it every night like my other son does. So we'll see...it's been 2 weeks. The light itself, when properly working, serves it's purpose in that it provides a light for my child that he can then carry if need be (down the dark hallway). However, unless your child has a big room, I find that this TykeLight is way too bright on the green and blue setting. Red is OK, but he doesn't like that color and it is an odd/non-relaxing color to me for sleeping. I think that a nightlight would work just fine, but the TykeLight is good for kids who developed night time fears and need a flashlight (I tried that but caught my son putting it to is eye). What is also nice about TykeLight is that it is not hot to the touch, and the light is not as glaring as a standard flashlight.

We bought this for my son in June b/c he was waking up scared in the middle of the night. It was perfect! He loved it! He put it in his bed w/ him every night and we put it back on the charger every morning. We even took it on vacation w/ us so he would feel comfortable in a new place. We thought it was such a great produce we were considering purchasing them as gifts for new parents. However, it was never dropped or mistreated, but all of the sudden it stopped working. We are all very disappointed. [...]

This nightlight worked great, but only for a month, at which point it just stopped working. Twenty two dollars for a nightlight that works for 6 weeks is NOT a good deal in my opinion.

I need a nightlight for a 2 1/2 year old who is developing a typical fear of the dark. He can't be trusted not to play with an electrical light, so I like the recharagable battery option. However, this glowing orb is creepy looking, and I can't really blame my son for not liking it. Can't they make the same design with a cute faced bunny, duck or bear?

I purchased the GloMate because there all the outlets in my son's room are located behind furniture and this seemed to be my only option for a nightlight. The first one [...] was broken; the green light did not work. The second one [...] had the same problem, but the THIRD one seems to be working fine after a couple weeks. It doesn't stay super bright through the night - if I check on my son after 2am or so I can't see him as well - but it does a pretty good job.

I bought this product a little over a month ago. I really loved the fact that it generated no heat. (It really didn't, even after 10 hours of being on during the night in my toddler's room.) But last week I placed it on its base to charged it but it never charged. It was dead. :( So sadly, I'm returning it and I'll replace it but I'll keep my fingers crossed that the second one works. (It was not dropped or anything.) It was a great product when it worked. I wanted to childproof the kid's room and remove the accessible night light plugged into the wall. I kept the "Glo Mate" high up on the shelf where my 19 month old and almost 3 year old couldn't get to it. Hopefully the second one works.

My son always had a hard time whenever we went on a long trip. It seems he was afraid of the dark. This unit has been great. He turns it on whenver he feels scared and best of all the brightness level is perfect.
