The reviews I read suggested this was hard to use but I have to say we found it pretty easy. My 5 1/2 yr old got it for Christmas and hasn't put it down. It's not dissimilar to the ones from my childhood, a bit smaller and with less combinations maybe but it lots of fun.

I had one of these when I was a girl. My daugter took to it immediatly. It made a great stocking stuffer and is small enough to take anywhere!

My four-year-old opened this gift and immediately started using it, and hasn't stopped in the week since! It's just as amazing a toy as it was when I was kid 30 years ago...great for little girls who love arts and crafts and fashion. Everything fits neatly into the case under the plate holder, and has withstood several little girls rough play!

This brought back memories of my childhood! I was a tad early though! My daughter is a only 3 and doesn't completely get it! She will get the hang of it though!

If anyone remembers Barbie Fashion Plates from the 70's, you'll love this mini version of them. It's a nice, portable set great to take along to church, car, trips, etc. With interchangeable plates you can create "rubbings" of a variety of fashion outfits. My daughter,, age 5, loves it.

I had a fashion plate when I was young, and I loved it. When I saw this, I wanted to get it for my 5 year old because I remembered all the fun I had. I was disappointed with the product. 1) This one is very small, and 2) when you are using the crayon to trace the outline of the design, the head and feet aren't able to be traced because the frame gets in the way--poor design. I would only recommend because it is fairly inexpensive.

I had one of these as a child and it hasn't changed a bit, except that I remember mine being a little bigger. My daughter loves this kind of stuff, so it went over well, until she received a more modern version from my brother! She still likes it though.

The activity is great! My 4 yr. old loves it. I was a little disappointed in the quality/durablity of the storage drawer and lid. The drawer is hard to open and close.

What is nice about this is that it stays organized in the drawer locate underneath the coloring area. It has many different fashion plates that are double-sided.

It does need to come with more than 3 pieces of paper. Some of the fashions remind me of the 80's, although at this juncture there is alot of 80's fashion back in style.

This product is a lot of fun, and is almost exactly like the one I had as a girl. I wanted something for my little artist to have fun with. She has been using it for letters, cards and general decoration of the house.

Pros: Enough double sided plates for hours of fun.
The rubbing stick has a spare crayon included.
There are 4 little colored pencils included in the package so they can instantly start decorating their creations. (We tons of colored pencils around the house, and my daughter has been using it instead for more variety).

Cons: The lid is rather flimsy and must be held down firmly so the paper doesn't move.
The container that holds all of the plates, pencils and rubbing tool is clever, but does not go in too easily every time. It can take several tries, and the plates usually fall out and scatter.

Overall, my daughter loves this toy, and I have fun oohing and ahhhhing over her cool creations. :D

When my 7 year-old niece received this, she jumped up and down and hugged it. I know she'll spend hours designing outfits. It reminds me of the Barbie one I had as a kid, and played with for hours.

This is the same toy, Fashion Plates, that I had growning up! It provided me with hours and hours of fun and is doing the same for my 6 year old daughter! Great find! Great price!
