These are great scissors for your child's first pair. I love that they don't cut hair, but are sharp for paper cutting. The main reason I purchased these scissors is because they are suitable for left or right handed kids. My child is showing left-handed tendencies, so she can use them with either hand.

My twin boys are 2-1/2, and I've been looking all over for scissors for Toddlers. Thank you, One Step Ahead for offering these scissors. The price was right. The description of the product is exactly as described. They are extremely safe, and can only cut paper. (I was pleasantly surprised at how well it cuts. It's made of a durable plastic.) My boys are learning how to cut with these scissors. They do a pretty good job making little cuts on paper and then tearing the rest. They get very excited when I take out the scissors for coloring and cutting time.

These scissors are great for toddlers who are trying out their independence. They only cut paper. They provide the necessary practice children need to prepare them for kindergarten.

My 4 year old daughter loves to cut and now she can cut by herself and not cut things she shouldn't like clothes or hair. They only cut paper and she loves to sit for ages cutting things out and now I don't have to worry about her hurting herself. Highly recommended for safe fun.

My daughter loves the scissors and spends many hours doing her "crafts" with her new scissors. As always I really like the Melissa and Doug brand. The only con is the red zig zag scissors are hard to operate off and on and get stuck in the open position which is frustrating for my daughter. She mostly uses the straight edge scissors.

I got these for my 2 and a half yr old and he had a problem holding them at first because his hands are small. Once he got the hang of holding them, sometimes the paper wouldn't cut and he would get frustrated. Its great that all they cut is paper so he can't cut anything else! Good learning tool.

These are a great compromise item. My five year old has an art table in her room and wanted scissors but I was concerned that our 2 year old would get a hold of them so I bought these. They cut paper well but are a little flimsy for toddler use and won't cut string. But for basic art without the worry of sharp scissors they are great.

These are great scissors for children learning to use scissors - they aren't sharp and can't cut other stuff since there aren't blades - but they work great on paper. My 2 1/2 year old feels excited about being able to cut paper and make designs but I don't have to worry as much about her hurting herself or cutting something she shouldn't.

These are my daughter's first set of scissors. I love them b/c she can't cut her hair. Great price and they keep her busy.

My son (3) really likes being able to have his own "safe" scissors. They don't cut paper very well, hard to get them to work, but that is what you get for having non-sharp scissors. He usually puts the scissors on the paper and then rips it. Whatever works and he is happy with them.

My 2 1/2yr old loves these scissors!! She goes back and forth between her right and left hand and the scissors do too!! I am a hairdresser and my daughter always sees me doing hair and is wanting to mimick me..so in an effort to avoid the scenario of her cutting her own hair I was very impressed that they truly DO NOT cut hair or skin or anything other than paper. There is not a blade on them so they are truly SAFETY scissors. I have reccommended them to ALL of my friends and clients with children!!

I was skeptical when I bought these because of their claim to cut paper but not hair or clothes. I am not sure how the scissors know but they really do not cut anything but paper - believe me we tried! I love this product.

These are perfect for the younger sibling who wants to keep up with the older ones. My two year old has a ball with them, and I don't have to drive her crazy with my worrying about safety. They work well and easily, but not too well!
