Comments about Boon Benders Adaptable Utensils:
I purchased this set for my daughter. We weren't sure which hand was her dominant, so it was great to be able to change the utensils. Having the bent spoon makes it so much easier for beginningers to try and make it to their mouth. Great product!!
I love these. They make it much easier for my independent minded little one to feed herself. The only problem is that she likes to chew on them and has managed to chew threw the spoon. We just bought another set.
I had silver spoon and fork shaped with the bend in them with mother of pearl handles for my children and I can not find them. They were the best thing for them because this is the way children hold their utensils when they are eating and it helps them to learn to feed themselves and keep food on the utensils.
17 month old can actually get food in his mouth with this spoon & fork. it's exciting.
This product didnt work for us. My daughter found the bendable silverware to be much more difficult to use than the traditional children's slverware. She has difficulty due to the small size of them and want able to ever get any food using them. Great idea, but didnt work for us.
These perform exactly as advertised and do make self-feeding easier for our baby. But at [$] plus s&h and the propensity for small baby untensils to get lost, i don't think we'll buy additional ones. But if money isn't a huge concern, these are great.
My grandson has Autism and was having trouble keeping the food onthe regular spoons. He would try to turn the spoons upside down andthe food would fall off. It is taking a little practice but it seems like theseutensils are helping him get more food in his mouth without using hishands.
Fork is not very easy to use. will not pick up food very easily, ex green beans. Sometimes frustrating to my daughter (17 months)
With other spoons I've used, I'm likely to get food split when feeding the baby. With this spoon, the portion is just right and definitely less mess. Plus, my baby likes gripping the spoon herself.
I really like the concept but they are really to small and very frustrating for my son when he's hungry.
My daughter has a better grasp with these utensils and she enjoys attempting to feed herself with them!!!
It was too small and not deep enough to hold any food. By the time it gets to their mouths, there's no food because it all fell out. Not worth spending the money. Kids eventually learn with regular utensils.
My left-handed son (and I'm right-handed) was not getting the hang of using a spoon so I tried these one. After a couple days of practice he is using the spoons and so proud of himself. I love that you can adjust it so how ever they hold the spoon it's still going to angle into the mouth correctly.
This is a good product in that it will bend in either direction. My daughter is a lefty, but still switches back and forth.
My granddaughter loves them and to me that is all that matters!
