We have 3 of these gates - they look great and work well. They do swing closed but sometimes don't latch unless you pull it closed. It keeps our little one out. I know these gates are sturdy because our toddler pulls on them and they have never come loose.

This gate does its job. I bought one for the bottom of our stairs and purchased another for the top. I think there are probably better-made gates but this is one of the nicest looking ones out there. I was pleasantly surprised because we were able to easily install it on our stairs which has a metal rod on one side and a wall, without puncturing any holes. The negatives are that you do have to tighten the screws every so often because they come loose, and one of the small pieces fell off on the top of the gate in the first week (but it did not affect its functionality). Overall, I was very happy with this product.

We have two of these gates. They are our SECOND FAVORITE Gate. They look WONDERFUL. It is sturdy and I have to admit that it rarely works itself loose. We go through this gate HUNDREDS of times a day. This is not a handsfree gate. it does not latch on it's own, although it will swig shut on it's own. Sometimes this can be very annoying. If you want a gate to swing shut and latch, that's great, but if it doesn't latch automatically, there is no benefit to having it swing shut. It's difficult to carry anything through this gate(laundry, baby, toys, etc) because it is always trying to swing shut. I have to maneuver and hold it open with one leg while going through. I have a 22 month old and a 3 month old, and this gate is NOT my favorite. I much prefer the step on gate that is sold from One Step Ahead. We had some initial issues with this gate not staying secure, but now it does. It only auto latched for the first few weeks and then that feature stopped working and you have to latch it yourself each time, which is incredibly frustrating for a gate that is supposed to auto latch.

This is a lovely gate and we have gotten many compliments. However, we needed to install at the top of stairs and this gate is the only one we found of the proper size. During installation the pressure end went right through our wall. After reinforcing with an extra piece of wood it is fine and I am sure this would be fine in a doorway because of the door jamb but beware if you are installing directly on a wall only!!

I tried to get theis product 3x and each time it arrived it broke on the same hinge every time. [...]. I ended up buying one locally from a store.

I needed to block off two different sized entrances to our kitchen. I like the fact that these gates cover both small and wide doorways, so I was able to do both entrances with matching gates. The concept of how to install the gates is easy enough, but centering them properly to make sure they latched well was a bit challenging. But once in, they work well and look great. My 10 month old is cruising and he can even hang on the gate without it opening or coming down.On a side note, one of the gates did arrive with a broken hinge. [...]

I bought this because it matches my house/decor and looks very nice. It's durable, easy to use, easy to install, and very classy looking. I wish they would make these wider for the area at the top of my stairs.

We love this gate and the fact it came with the extensions so it's easy to set up. It's attractive yet sturdy and easy to remove when grandbaby is not around. Will be interested to see if she can figure out how to open it. As with many gates, you do have to be sure it latches behind you.

We love this gate. It looks great and is quite sturdy and easy to install. One BIG problem is that you do need to tighten it from time to time. We found out the hard way when my toddler pulled it out of the door frame and cut his eye because it had loosened over time. I don't think this is a bad product or we would have removed it. Just PAY ATTENTION.

As product description say, blends nicely with home decor and it is functional but in a clunky sort of way. For high traffic areas, it needs constant readjustment. I don't think it'll stand up to a toddler pushing against it well. Opening feels a bit too tight with baby in arms and dog trying to get through at same time.

This gate was a little tricky to put up, but once up it is sturdy and easy to use. Once we had it tightened just right even our 3 year old could use it! We have guests over all the time and they have given us so many compliments on it. Our doorway is actually a little bit wider than the specifics, but we were able to make it work by inserting some extra wood slats. We DO use it at the top of a staircase and it works great.

I got this gate to replace a metal one that broke. It does not allow for the sides to be permanently attached to the wall as my old one was. However, it does blend in much better. It must be monitored and check regularly to ensure tension knobs don't loosen.

This is a great gate if you have a walkway that is used frequently by adults but want something easy to open and close with one hand. It also looks so much better than the plastic or wire mesh gates we used to have. Two MINOR considerations; the gate is limited for wide openings like stairs, and I wish it had a lock to hold the gate open for when the kids are in bed. Definitely a great gate to own.

This is a great gate that looks very good. It is actually used in Grandma's house because she wanted something that looked good. I wanted a gate that was safe. It met both of our needs and she loves the look.
