Hide-Away Extra Long Bed Rail

We bought our daughter a full sized bed. Finding a kid rail was a challenge. I bought this one. Assembly was easy because the pieces are marked A, B, C, etc. Putting it one the bed was also EASY!! It works great. It slides underneath for when I need to get in the bed with my daughter or make her bed up. I love how it has the strap/bar combo that goes underneath the mattress and locks in on the other side!!
The ONLY problem I have had is the little "lock tabs" for when the bed rail is up. When you put it down and fold it underneath sometimes they get jammed. But it is an easy fix.
Overall - I love this product and will buy another one when my son gets old enough to need one!!

The flexibility of this product sounds great, but it is not as easy to use when a bedskirt is involved as it gets caught in the material. Using it as if it were a stable side rail and my grand daughter climbs out of bed at the bottom.

The picture examples were microscopic making it difficult to see exactly what you needed to do in order to make this function properly. The directions alone weren't intuitive. The rail does work for the purpose it was intended, but the hide away part not so much. If your goal is to slide this rail up while your child is sleeping, don't even try... We have to keep the rail up all of the time because it is very difficult to unlock and slide under the bed - it doesn't work as freely as the video tutorial online. Overall, the rail does what it needs to do, but I was hoping to have it hide away more.

I bought 2 thinking i could put them both on my sons twin bed, it didn't work out. i ended up having to put the bed up against the wall for the other side. Putting it together was difficult because the pictures were blurry and the detail didn't match the actual parts. It is sturdy and once i got it put together i do like it.

The thing that sold me on this was that it is the longest one available. Some of them are so short it is not even worth it! I bought 2. Have had no problems changing sheets like others have said. I don't put it down, it is up all the time. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

Well apart from the complicated insturctions, [...]. We ordered the main unit along with the extra rail. What the product doesn't let you know is that this unit only works with beds that have a base and a matress pair. The mattress has to be at least 9in think, but no more than 12 (12 is pushing it). We tried using the Tempur-Pedic mattress (only 8 inch thick) but the bottom metal rail is in line with the top of the bed. Not very comfortable for your child when he bumps his head on that. The hide feature only works if your mattress is above your bed frame (our mattress fits inside of a wooden bed frame which means the hide feature will not work). [...]. We are in the process of returning this rail system.

It's nice. But I found one very similar at babies'r'us. I ordered this one because it specifically said nobody offers anything like this with these features. It was cheaper at Babies'r'us. Sometimes the pins do get stuck but it has not been a big issue for me. We also ordered the extra side rail to fit the foot of the queen and it won't work unless they are directly accross from eachother.

This is great. I love how the rail hides under the bed with so much ease. It pairs with the second rail but it does not hide. Would be nice if they both did. Still keeps our little one from falling out of bed at night. Also easy to travel!

I LOVE this rail. It is sturdy & durable. It was pretty easy to put together. I love the fact it tucks away during the day!!

This bed rail is great in concept. It is impossible to put up and down. Mine finally jammed tonight so bad I have to return it. I agree with the other reviewer about the little knobs you have to pull out to move the rail up and down. They are cheap and jam up all the time. I would never recommend this unless you plan to never slide it under the mattress!! Like to change sheets!!!

I've only had this on my daughter's bed for two months and the mesh is tearing from the bottom in two places. We have a second rail (from [...]) on the bed now that it is away from the wall. It is not the extra long, but seems to be of better quality. I will be emailing One Step Ahead regarding the poor quality.

When we began transitioning my 21-month-old out of her baby crib and into a twin bed, we needed a rail that would keep her from falling out of bed. It's a sturdy product, yet easily adjustable when need be.

I was given a used bedrail but the hinges were plastic and one broke within a very short time. This new rail is metal which is a plus but I had a very difficult time understanding the directions. If the small pictures were enlarged somewhat it would be much more helpful. It was also very difficult to seat the horizontal tubes into their U troughs.

got for granddaughter, works well, buying another for my house
it's easy to put on and take off.
nice and long for a restless sleeper
also sides are mesh, can't slip through

This is the second set of railings that I have purchased. I love them. The previous model was sturdy but not as sturdy as this one. Great improvement. Putting it togther though, much more difficult than the previous model. The instructions should be slightly more detailed. Other than that, I would recommend them to anyone. My son is 4 and has them on his queen size bed and I just transitioned my daughter who is two and half to her own queen and she loves it. Very safe if you teach them.
