Comments about One Step Ahead Sun Smartiesâ⢠Shades:
My four year old doesn't like to wear these, but I think they are a good product. I think it is his personal preference, not a reflection of the product.

My two-year-old son kind of has a love/hate relationship with these sunglasses. :) It just depends on his mood whether or not he will wear them. But generally, once they are on he will keep them on. They are super cute and they really do stay put. Certainly the most success I have had with getting him to wear sunglasses for any period of time!

I bought these for my 9 month old who is in the 70th percentile for head size. I thought these would fit just right. They're a little big, and the strap is not easily adjustable for a smaller head. The neoprene strap widens to where you can't pul it through to adjust, though it can be forced. Then, you have this large portion of velcro that doesn't completely attach to the rest of the band, so it looks funny hanging off & can be uncomfortable if it rubs on the baby's head. These would be fine on a bigger head and we'll just have to wait for our baby to grow into them. Also, because the strap widens, you can't fasten the strap directly behind the baby's head without smashing/bending the ears. You have to fit the strap at an angle (more towards the top of the head) to make them comfortable, but then the lenses move and the glasses come off too easily. The lenses themselves are a decent fit, tight enough not to allow sunlight through the sides/top without causing too much discomfort for the baby.
We purchased these shades for our one year old daughter right before we went to Colorado for skiing. Although they do not fit perfectly (the strape is too long, but we could adjust it easily), we and our little one like the shades. AND she truly figuered out that with the shades she could see better, so she let the shades were they belong.
My daughter loves her glasses and thinks she's really cool! She just turned one and is starting to pull hats and glasses off but she has sensitive blue eyes and we live outside. With just a little praise and showing her the difference in her vision with them on then off, and a few 'how cutes', she keeps these on! Yeah! Everyone asks where I got these! Recommending them to everyone! See pictures
Riding with cool shades!

I bought these for my 9 month old twins. They are in the 50th percentile for head size but these were too big even at the smallest velcro setting. Neither seemed thrilled with them on either. Bummer. Gotta send them back.
took on vacation. helpful once we made a game of looking through them
sunglasses
I very much like these sunglasses. I purchased them for my son when he was 5 months old. He wore them all that summer and the next. I am now back to get a pair for my daughter. They stay on and are comfy for them to wear. Plus, there aren't any hinges to pinch fingers. We definitely got our money's worth out of the first pair.
Although we have yet to use them outside since I bought them for an upcoming trip to Hawaii, my 11 month old daughter acutally wears these around the house without pulling them off (which is surprising). If they are really 100% UVA/B rated, as they say they are, then it will make me and my husband very happy(he is a cornea specialist and I am an ophthalmological nurse). Hopefully they will work well on our trip next week. They do have an adjustable velcro strap but the frames dont exactly fit her tiny face since the plastic frame is not bendable(and I am scared to try to bend them a bit in fear they will snap in half). They do provide enough coverage over her eyes to make me happy, plus she will have a hat on to also help shield her from the sun's rays. The price was also very reasonable and they just look so darn cute on her!
My two-year-old's sunglasses from last year (also bought from One Step Ahead, but a different brand - - Wee Ones or Wee Waves?) had velcro straps that closed together around his head. The design of these shades runs a strap from one side of his head through a clasp around which the strap folds over to a velcro closure. My son does not like these as much because they can sometimes seem to "trap" him and be tough to get off due to that closure. I find the design harder to adjust to fit his head properly. Once on, he generally likes his sunglasses, but the brand from last year's pair was much better designed. Unfortunatly, I can't find that brand again. Can One Step Ahead??
We are still introducing these to our son. As the first couple of times he screamed bloody murder when we put them on.

The shade part of these sunglasses fit my 7 month old but the strap doesn't have enough velcro to pull it tight enough around her head so they fall off a lot. They will be great when her head gets bigger.
These glasses are so cute! I have only used them on my son who is 5 months old but he is old enough to pull at things that he doesn't like and he has left these on his face each time (and even falls asleep with them on!) My one warning is that they are rated for Newborns+ and my son has a large head for his age and the strap is quite loose on him. This shouldn't prevent you from trying them- you just may find they won't fit a small baby very well.
These actuallly stay put. My son loves being outside, but doesn't like the brightness of the sun.
the product was too large for a 5 1/2 month old and will fit when he is much bigger. although the sunglasses are for infants, there is not enough adjustability.
