Comments about Dream Baby Multi-Purpose Latches:
We got these to replace several that literally just fell off the fridge and cabinets. So far these are wonderful, easy to use and almost invisible so the baby doesn't notice them as much.
This product has saved me! We have a freezer in our garage full of extra food and the door was being left partially open at times accidently of course- but I had to throw away so much food- a huge waste of money. With this new latch I always know that the door is sealed tight! Thanks so much
used these on the kids dresser, keeps them out so i don't have to keep putting their clothes away.
We bought the longer Regular length (7 1/4") latches, hoping that these would attach to our new high-efficiency (HE) front loading washer that we purchased. Supposedly, if you keep the washer door closed on these washers, they can develop a bad mildew smell. Of course you don't always want the door wide open either. We attached one side of the latch to the round washer door on its frame and the other end to the painted metal of the washer. We detach the side fastened to the washer when we use it. The latch has been on for several months and it's working great for this use! It keeps the door mostly (but not all the way) closed, which discourages kids and/or pets from thinking about putting things into (or getting into) the washer.
We have installed these latches on bot the fridge and dishwasher to keep our 2 year old from accessing the appliances. With the heavy use of the fridge, we have had to replace the rubber/plastic connector 3 times because the plastic starts to rip. However, at the cost and set of 3 in a package we think this is a wonderful solution.
Purchased this to keep my kids out of the utility cabinet w/ lots of cleansers, but the adhesive did not hold as strong as expected on my wood cabinet. You need to push the center against the direction you are pulling the strap to keep from yanking off the entire pad. It does deter my nearly 3 yr olds enough to keep them out of the cabinet. Likely better for kids not strong enough to pull open doors.
I bought the latch system after i bought the plastic child proof tabs that screw into your cupboard or drawers. After about the seventh plastic tab broke i was so relieved to get these latches. They are extremely easy to use and they keep my two year old out of everything. Thanks One Step Ahead!
This is the 2nd time I've purchased these latches! I loved them so much, I had to order more. They have so many uses! I highly recommend them!
I purchased the latches, thinking it was a good idea to have a product that was transparent and flexible. However, the latches are not even a good deterrent... took all but three seconds for my toddler to figure them out and put the latch in his mouth. Save your money; these latches are simply not strong enough.
I thought these would be great because it doesn't require drilling. But, my toddler can open these locks on my kitchen cabinets which defeats the purpose. I also use them in our family room to close the doors of the entertainment until. These are glass doors and seem to work a little better. But, he also stopped trying to open these doors. So, the adhesive has stayed strong. Every time he pulls at the kitchen cabinet, it decreases the strength of the adhesive.
Product is not what i thought i would get. My son, 23 months, was able to remove the entire latch since the adhesive was not strong enough (was put on fridge). Also, it is quite difficult to open and close.
Efficient, but very hard for everyone to get into the appliance!
The idea behind this product is fantastic. But the only way these things are going to stay attached is if you use super glue for adhesive. I installed them on our entertainment center doors to keep our toddler (and puppy) out. I left them untouched for over 24 hours as suggested so that they would have the best chance to adhere properly. Less than 36 hours later, the circles spontaneously detached from the wood. Like I said, the idea for these is great, but the actual product doesn't work. Better off spending your money elsewhere.

Between our 13 month old and our almost 3 year old, we have to secure just about everything in our house. I love this product because I can use in on everything. I have secured kitchen cabinets, hutch doors, display cabinets, dressers, file cabinets - you name it! They come off easily when needed (I gently peel off with a butter knife, although I've heard eucalyptus oil does the trick), but the adhesive is super strong and will not fall off by itself. My toddler can pull off the clear plastic part if she really tries, but it's enough of a deterrent that she usually doesn't bother (and it takes her long enough that we see what she's up to). I love that they're easy for adults to unlatch and don't require screw-in installation or magnetic keys (which we'd lose in about 20 minutes). These are an absolute necessity in our house and I just keep buying more and more as the kids figure out how to get into everything.
We bought these after our 10 month old twins started opening the drawers to find tv remotes in the living room and cabinets in the entertainment center to pull out every dvd. The conventional door/drawer locks didn't work with our furniture, but these did. They are a little stiff the first couple uses, but we love them and they keep wondering fingers out. Especially when you have two sets of hands to worry about.
