We bought 4 of these for our church nursery when fire codes changed and we had to change door locks. We could not find this type of door lock in any local store so we were happy to find them online. Problem is that 5 of our 7 children in the 1-2 year old nursery program could escape. I brought one home to try out on our locks and my 2 year old was able to pull part of it off the door.

I installed it within 30 seconds and now the vacuum cleaner stays in the closet and the food stays in the pantry. My sons are no longer interested in those doors thanks to these devices! I highly recommend, wish I bought them sooner!

I dont like screws in my doors

I have a five year old that started chewing on the lever (door knob). This product covers the door leaver so he can't chew on it. I did not put the screw into the hardwood door so it does not keep anybody from going through the door, just prevents chewing. I purchased 8 to keep the toddlers from going through doors into areas/rooms that I did not want them in. However I am going to return the other 7 and find another product that will prevent entry for the toddlers and not permanently damage my beautiful 6 panel Oak doors.

I bought this to be used at my sister's home to prevent my 2 year old daughter from going out back to the pool. My sister wanted something that did not have to be screwed into the door. I found this, and bought it for her, because it was supposed to stick to the door. Well, not only did it not stick, but my 2 year old knew how to unlock the door within being there for less than 30 minutes.

This is a great product, way better than the Safety 1st version which will NOT fit on a door with a window or thick molding near the handle. It's reversible so it fits lever handles facing either way. My 5 year old can get where he needs to go as he can reach the mechanism and I taught him how to do it, but it stops my big and strong 18 month old (32lbs and 36") from getting into or out of rooms he shouldn't!

Took only a couple minutes to figure out installing the first one, after that they went on super easy. Easy to use, would be tough for little ones. Try not to let them see you use it.

I did not like the installation of this product. You have to drill three holes in your door that you are left with after taking the lock off at some point. Two sided tape would not hold the lock part attached to the wall. I don't see this product really working. I'm sending mine back.

This lock worked very very well for us. Initially, I was concerned that the adhesive wouldn't last long on the most used exterior door of our home. However, even with six people in and out all day long, it's still there a year later and working great. I've been extremely satisfied with this product!

I could not use this on my basement door as I had intended. The diameter of the product was too small for my door handle. You will want to measure your door handle before purchasing!

Best invention yet!! The lock keeps my 4 and 2 1/2 year old from opening the front door. The lock looks nice, and works like a champ. My only concern is that when we remove the adhesive/lock ( in 10 years :))will it take off the paint?? A small price to pay for the safety of our children.... worth the risk

This guard will not work (read, you cannot install it) on doors with a lock above the handle. We had to return this product and are disappointed that it did not work for us.

We use this on the door leading down to the basement. Our Toddler can't figure out how to open the door but our 5 year doesn't have a problem. We can also open the door from the other side while it is locked with this device so no one is ever trapped in the basement. It's perfect!

Not a fan of this - you have to drill

I didn't realize the top part of this product needs to be drilled into the door. Even if it would work with our door (we have an iron face plate in the area that needs drilled), it would be too permanent of a product. The kids will grow up & learn to use the door properly but the 3 holes will remain. I'm going to send this back & look for an alternative solution. I do know that it is VERY IMPORTANT to keep your doors locked so toddlers cannot get out - there was a tragic accident with 2 tots and a pool locally this summer. If this product is your only option - please drill!
